After hearing a few samples of this new album, all those feelings I've been missing for the last few years have all come back in full effect. Of Linda's last two Verve albums, I loved one and not so much the other (except for a few songs). "Now" brings back the days of when a new Eder-Wildhorn collaboration would hit the stores and make the fans go wild. "Now" is absolutely it. Every song is a gem, with great arrangements, lyrics and emotion. If you've been missing this side of Linda, it's "Now", it's "Here" and it's "FAB". Opt for the Barnes & Noble issue with three bonus tracks. Two of them are from the new Korean production, "Tears Of Heaven" now on stage in Seoul. The concept recording is only available in Korea, so it is nice to have two of the tracks included here as a bonus. Delicious all around.

I stole this title from the closing line of a review of "Now" in a South Florida newspaper. It sums up this music so well. This CD introduces new broadway type, big band and emotional ballads written by highly respected lyrisists. It has a sophisticated feel and the arrangements are lush and beautiful. With her incredible vocals, Linda Eder delivers each song very sensitively and elgantly. Every time you listen to it you hear different intimate nuances- it just keeps getting better. This CD is truly a work of art. Buy it and keep listening- It is perfect with a good glass of wine!

Simply amazing. If you are already a fan of Linda's this CD will make you love her even more. If you are not yet a fan you will be after hearing this CD. And then you won't be able to stop yourself from buying up everything she has ever recorded (trust me, I know!)
You won't be disappointed, Linda brings everything she has and more!

Richard Rodgers did his finest work with Oscar Hammerstein, elevating the standard for musical theater composition to new heights. Lennon and McCartney excelled together and changed the course of pop music forever. Like those brilliant pairings before them, Linda Eder and Frank Wildhorn are at their absolute creative best together as collaborators and performers. Their collective work on Now, along with the tremendously talented lyricists and longtime musical arranging colleague Jeremy Roberts is tremendous.

Bravo, Linda. Though I really loved the departure fom his ex-husband Frank Wildhorn with the past 3 cds, it is nice to see a reunion with some of the most expressive lyrics and music to be heard.
Linda still has it and this cd proves it. The high notes are brilliant and the tone of her voice was never better.
No finer man is a wonderful song that can be used as a tribute to anyone's husband, boyfriend or Father. The medley is beautiful and I think Linda was either thinking of her Dad or her boyfriend when she search for inspiration for her performance.
Ordinary People is a perfect song for anyone gettring married . The lyrics are truly touching.
The two songs from Camille Caudel, "Woman in his arms is so quietly beautiful and "What has never been done before " is almost like an anthem for women.
The Mad Hatter from the upcoming Broadway musical is lively and Linda seems to have alot of fun with the music.
Not gonna Fall this time is upbeat, though it starts out slowly, it builds and Linda builds the song to a climax , that only Linda can do.
If you buy the exclusive release, whicj I did, you get 3 bonus tracks and let me tell it is worth the extra money.
The first name I awa Paris is from another upcming Wildhiorn musics "Tears in Heaven" and it a hauntingly beautiful song with a medley that just flows throughout.
Pleas don't make me love you come from Dracula and it is quietly sophisticated.
Goodybe is another upbeat number that is great for anyone who has gone through a break-up.
What did you see inside the stars is a quieter song , something to sit and relax with.
The heat of the night is a sweet song and Linda's pharsing shines through and she shows how sweet her voice is .
More than heaven is another example how a simple song can shine through with nothing fancy. Just Linda singing a love song at her best.
Living in the Shadows , is another quiet easy listening numbers that showcases Linda's quiet register.
It is nice to see Linda reunited with her old musical director, Jeremey Roberts who was her musical director from 1986 to 2005. Here , he works his old magic and the chemistry between Roberts and Linda explode off the reoord.

Linda Eder's latest CD, NOW, is truly in a class by itself! The reunion of Linda's incredible voice with Frank Wildhorn's wonderful melodies is nothing short of spectacular! Her ability to interpret both music and lyrics is unparalleled and has never been more evident than on each track of NOW. After performing and recording for more than 20 years, is it possible for Linda Eder to get any better? The answer is yes! She has done it on this recording! Add to the musical combo of Eder and Wildhorn some of the most gifted lyricists, arrangers and musicians in the business and you have a recording that will surely leave its mark on the music world. It is evident that attention was paid to every last detail in the recording of NOW. The use of musicians is so important in supporting Linda as she skillfully navigates each melody and lyric. Individual instruments, piano, cello, flute, and guitar, have been featured so effectively in the spectacular arrangements. The Big Band and the Valhalla Symphony also lend themselves so appropriately on several of the tracks. In every case, the arrangements and musicians do what they are supposed to do and that is to allow Linda to use her stunning vocals to express every note, every lyric and every emotion whether by lightly "touching" a melody and lyric or soaring to the highest heights and belting and holding a note like only she can. What can I say about Frank Wildhorn's music that hasn't been said before? It is incredible to me the volume of music he has composed and continues to compose over the years, and I think his melodies are just wonderful! He has said in an interview that when he is composing a melody, he hears Eder singing it. This recording is a perfect example of how his music fits her voice to a tee. NOW is a perfect title for this CD. The song of the same name with lyrics by Maury Yeston is a showcase for what makes this "reunion" recording so special. Among the unmistakable elements on this track are Linda Eder's range, vocal prowess and emotional connection to the lyric. The sound of Linda's layered voice in the background enhances the overall appeal of this wonderful arrangement. It seems almost like "everything old is new again!" Vintage Eder/Wildhorn! Lyricist Nan Knighton has three songs on NOW and for very good reason. Nan's songs are lyrical and poetic and Linda's interpretation of her lyrics is right on the money. These three songs are so very different in tempo and substance, each one calling for its own interpretation and unique approach. In these Nan Knighton songs, Linda Eder shows her ability to be all of the following... tender, strong, passionate, and resolute. Quite a tall order but not for somebody as talented as Eder! In addition to Maury Yeston and Nan Knighton, NOW is loaded with the work of wonderful lyricists: Robin Lerner, Leslie Bricusse, Jack Murphy, Brenda Russell, Don Black, and Christopher Hampton. Each one has put his or her original stamp on this latest Linda Eder recording. I urge all lovers of great music to run out and get a copy of NOW! They seem to be flying off the shelves and for very good reason! It contains great music performed by a singer who is truly in a class by herself... Linda Eder!

There is a certain irony to the title of Linda Eder's reunion with her musical partner, theater composer Frank Wildhorn. Naming the album Now calls attention to the contents, which consist of newly written Wildhorn compositions with lyrics by the likes of Leslie Bricusse, Don Black, and Maury Yeston. But not only is the style of the music not current, it is rooted in a particular time. Back in the mid-'60s, pop singers like Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand used to make albums that sounded a lot like this by picking and choosing material from Broadway shows and movie themes of the day.
