With the popularity of boy bands waning once again (think New Kids on the Block) and his younger brother Aaron's career soaring, Nick Carter -- the youngest and arguably the most marketable member of the Backstreet Boys -- has taken flight and gone solo. In BSB, Carter's more timid vocals were often overshadowed by Brian Littrell's earnest, country-tinged crooning and A. J. McClean's flamboyant vocals. But on his urgently titled, rockin' debut, Now or Never, Carter sounds surprisingly convincing as a frontman. With a carefree pop-rock sound, Carter charms fans throughout the 12-track disc, most notably on the guitar-driven lead single "Help Me," the Bryan Adams-reminiscent ballad "Do I Have to Cry for You," and the Bon Jovi–esque "Miss America." On the latter track, Carter cleverly serenades his dream girl with smooth lyrics such as, "In the land of the free/Make a prisoner of me/Close my eyes and you're all that I see." Only time will tell, but like his 'N Sync counterpart, Justin Timberlake -- who also released his first solo disc, Justified, in late 2002 -- Carter's boy band–less future looks bright. After all, it's Now or Never.

I have heard most of the album already and words cannot describe how wonderful it is! Every song is different, but yet they still have that "Nick feel" to them. The sound is more like Bon Jovi...rock but not hard rock. I'm so proud of Nick!

If you ask me Nick Carter is gonna be the same ol' boring BSB(just without the other 4). He can call it rock, but it's all pop. If all his songs gonna be like Help Me then this is gonna be a bad cd.

Nick Carter's CD is fantastic!!! It has so many different styles, it's amazing! He is so talented, I was impressed. My favorite is #11...makes me want to cry! My sister and I went to buy it at midnight just to get it and we're both sooooo impressed! Worth it and get it while it has the free DVD!!! (They're only selling 150k copies across the US.)

Everyone should pick up this openminded even if your not a BSB fan. It'll take you back to the 80's for all of us older fans. From the slow songs to the up tempo ones he gives his all and shows us his heart.

Like the title of one of Nicks' song, this album is going to "Blow Your Mind!" I just picked up my copy of Now and Never today and I was extremely impressed with it. I'm one of those, "okay, I like him so I must pick up his album and support him whether or not I think the album is good" but I can honestly say this album ROCKS!! Nick has been saying how he wanted to make an album where there are not just one or two good songs but all the songs should be good. Well, I definitely think he accomplished that. If you like his first single "help me" then you'll enjoy this album. What are you waiting for? order it now :)

This CD is great. It has a fun rock pop sound. All the songs on the CD are great especially, I Got You, and I Stand For You.

Nick Carter goes beyond what anyone could expect in his solo album. Every song brings something different to the album as a whole and it's hard to skip over any of them when listening. The infectious melodies will have you dancing and singing and the meaning behind each song, smiling.

After spending 10 years in the Backstreet Boys NIck Carter finally broke out on his own. The rumors had been spread in earlier years but denied. Now with the release of "Now or Never" Nick breaks barriers. His pop rock sound brings something new to the buisness and lets his fans get closer to him. The album was great and Nick co-wrote 5 out of the 12 songs on the album. I give the album 5***** if i could give him more i would. Also for a short time you can buy the limited edition which comes with an extra dvd which spend 35 min going behind the scenes and giving you a closer look. This is his "Best Yet."

If you like Rock, ballads and BSB you will love this cd it has a little bit of everything. When you heard this cd you will think different about the sweet and shy young Nick, it's more like the rebel and sexy crazy Nick.

Nick Carter's solo debut is an impressive blend of pop rock. I recommend it to anyone who wants an album of good pop music. If you enjoy Bryan Adams or even Bon Jovi, there is something on this album for you. Even if you don't like the Backstreet Boys, you should give "Now or Never" a chance.

There are hardly words to describe this cd! Nick Carter did a beyond fabulous job for his debut cd "Now or Never!" All fans of him, and anyone who likes good music should get this cd. It has all types of music to enjoy, and vocally is strong! Nick is also hot, and really proved himself better than anyone. I am truly glad I got this cd! It truely is amazing! I love it, and want a second copy!

Nick Carter's debut album has proved that he can make it on his own. Now was definitely the time to release his album. The album doesn't alienate fans who are used to the sound of the Backstreet Boys. The album also allows people who might not have listened to the Backstreet Boys music, to become fans due to rock elements that are present. The songs are easy to relate to. How many people with that it was Saturday? Overall this album was great and Nick will make it as a solo artist.

Nick has done a wonderful job with his album. I really dig it! I've always been a fan of the 80's pop/rock genre; Journey, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Richard can't go wrong! I feel them on this album, as well as others, but mostly, you really feel NICK! He doesn't stray TOO far away from the Nick we've all grown up to, but he takes a gamble. I give it a 4 star rating cause there are some songs I don't think are that great, kinda cheesy, but all 12 tracks are performed VERY well. Nick has loads of talent, there's no doubt about it. He shines on this record!!

Nick Carter's Now or Never is a piece of work! It shows the hard work tha Nick has put in himself without his "big brothers" around! Good Job Nick!

I've been a Nick Carter/Backstreet fan for years now, but I knew this CD would be a different path for Nick. It's turned out to be the right path in my opinion. There's not one song on the album that I don't love. My favorite would have to Miss America, though. His voice is so sexy and sultry, I just love it! And the lyrics are killer!! Listening through the CD, I am put through an array of emotions from happy and boundy to sad and teary and everything in between. For a first time effort, I give it a huge two thumbs up!!

I ran out first thing today to get this album, all I can say is WOW! It left me speechless and breathless for a long time. As a fan of Nick's for about 7 years now, I am so excited he went solo. This album is EVERYTHING I knew he could be as a solo artist. It is amazing. The sound is nothing like the Backstreet Boys. It's that pop/rock sound with a good edge to it. It shows his influences on the album and you have to love it. Knowing that Nick wrote much of this album and even played on some it makes it so much more person. Whatever you do, buy this album.
