Dave Grusin has been known for his tight-knit jazz groups and his movie orchestrations. This album brings his music down to basics, and this is where the "seeds" of creativity come from. Each piece bears the unmistakable "stamp of Grusin." Yet there is such wide diversity, from the tenderness of "On Golden Pond" to the drive of "Memphis Stomp." I highly respect any pianist who takes his instrument to "places" previously unexplored. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
