Barnes & Noble
The biggest-selling muti-artist album series, Now That's What I Call Music! is back with its seventh collection -- featuring 19 of 2001's top hits spanning pop, R&B, and modern rock. Highlights include Destiny's Child's inescapable girl-power anthem "Survivor," 'N Sync's endearing ballad "This I Promise You," Eve featuring Gwen Stefani on the sassy "Let Me Blow Ya Mind," and Evan & Jaron's wholesome rocker "From My Head to My Heart." All Music Guide - Andy Kellman
The seventh volume of the U.S. version of the Now That's What I Call Music! series continues to demonstrate how rock bands were less of a factor on the pop charts during the late '90s and early 2000s. Just like the sixth volume, the rock picks -- Lifehouse's "Hanging by a Moment," Aerosmith's "Jaded," Evan & Jaron's "From My Head to My Heart," American Hi-Fi's "Flavor of the Weak" -- are tacked onto the end, practically as an afterthought a sequencing scheme that would, tellingly enough, carry through the 15th volume. None of these forgettable songs are highlights of the disc, going to show how "real musicians" are as capable of making disposable fluff as anybody else. Once again, the majority of the disc is divided between the oft-intersecting worlds of rap, R&B, and dance-pop. Nelly's "Ride Wit Me," Janet Jackson's "All for You," Eve's "Let Me Blow Ya Mind," and Destiny's Child's "Survivor" are the most significant inclusions. Overall, this is not one of the strongest editions in the series.

    Cool Variety CD.

This CD has a lot of variety from all your favorite 2001 summer hits. It's got BSB, American Hi-Fi, City High, Eve feat. Gwen Stefani, Mandy Moore, Janet, Britney, Lifehouse, Evan & Jaron, and many more! My favorite tracks on this CD are ''The Call'' (Remix), ''What Would You Do?'', ''Let Me Blow Ya Mind'', ''In My Pocket'', ''From My Head To My Heart'', ''Baby Come On Over (This Is Our Night)'', ''Flavor Of The Weak'', ''Play'', and ''Survivor''. I also like some of the other tracks on this CD, too. One thing I don't like about NOW 7 is that it has too many cuts and snipets to edit the songs. Why didn't they just make an ''explicit lyrics'' version for older people like they did with NOW 5? But all in all, great CD. It also missed out on a lot of other great summer hits like ''I Wanna Be Bad'' by Willa Ford, ''Hit 'Em Up Style'' by Blu Cantrell, and more. Still, if you like the series, then this is for you!

NOW thats good..but could be better!!

GOOD TO SEE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE POND GETTING A COLLECTION OF THE ''NOW SERIES''I HAVE ALL 50 ''NOW UK'' ALBUMS AND I HAVE STARTED TO COLLECT THE USA VERSIONS. THE ONLY REAL LET DOWN IS THAT THE ''NOW USA'' COLLECTIONS ARE NOT DOUBLE CDS LIKE ITS UK COUSIN.BUT,THEY ALL STILL HAVE A GREAT VARIETY OF SONGS ON THEM.

    Now It's Time to Party

This CD is filled with non-stop beats and makes you want to stop whatever you are doing and dance. The musical R & B trio, Destiny¿s Child, and rock powerhouse, Aerosmith, begin and end the CD respectively. This eclectic mix of R& B, pop, rock, and rap makes this CD appeal to most music aficionados. You can get your freak on to the rap song ¿Fiesta¿ or you can slow your dance moves down to the nice slow melody ¿Never Had a Dream¿¿ Be careful when you are driving and listening to this compellation of great songs because you might make your car move to the beat. ¿Danger¿ by Mystikal makes you want to booty dance, but if you want to go wild and crazy then Lifehouse¿s ¿Hanging by a Moment¿ would be perfect. When I listen to the CD, the only time I stop dancing is when I need to get water. This CD provides its listeners with over seventy minutes of great music and is a must have for all party people.

    Great cd but.....

This is a great cd but there are 2 songs that it is missing.... Outkast - ''Ms Jackson'' Train - '' Drops of Jupiter'' I mean hey! Outkast won a VMA and Drops of Jupiter has been in the top ten for months. It even hit number 1 for a couple of weeks.

    Not bad collection

Really, this is a better collection than any of the others. I can't stand that blasted Lifehouse song (''Hanging by a Moment''), and I believe that Janet Jackson is well past her prime, but songs by American Hi-fi, Eve, and Aerosmith made up for it with quality hits.

    this cd is Tiiiiiight

Well I have to admit this is the best of the NOW collection. The Now 7 songs were great and some songs got edited (that's good for children). So if I were Ebert rating a movie I'd say 2 thumbs way up!!!!

    NOW does it again!

I have every single one of the NOW cd's, and they are the best cd's I own. They're great because they allow you to have the music you enjoy, and not have to buy the cd's they're from for one song. As always, I can think of a few songs I would have put on there in place of others, but you can't have everything. For anyone who listens to Billboard Chart music, I recommend this cd.

    Needs a little tuning up....

I think I will love this CD, but I think it needs on more song: ''Irresistible'' by Jessica Simpson. I think that's a great song, fit for Now 7, but oh, well. And I think that instead of *NSYNC's ''This I Promise You'', they should of used ''Pop''. Other than those 2 faults, It's a cool CD.

    Now, Vol. 7

I can't believe it!!! This CD is an awesome CD!!! I just bought it today and it's awesome!!! There are some downsides, though...Now could've changed some songs...Backstreet Boys: The Call and *NSync: This I Promise You??? They are OLD!!! Backstreet should be More Than That and *NSync should be Pop...Destiny's Child could've been Bootylicious, too, but that's supposed to be on Now 8! Everyone who reads this, send me some feedback at my e-mail address and tell me what you think!!!
