Overview

SR-71 may not worry about being politically correct, but whereas most of the band's peers come off snidely, this band isn't afraid to pour some sugar. Naturally, the quartet sometimes veers toward boy-band wussiness, especially on the marshmallow centers of "Empty Spaces" and "Go Away," but the clean Bay City Rollers vibe throughout combines with spacious headphone production to make even the few lesser moments worthy of attention. "Alive" may owe more to Kiss than Pearl Jam (especially since SR-71 covers the make-up menaces in concert), and this positive party atmosphere makes the whole album rise above. Rather than attempting to maintain the velocity of opening one-two combo "Politically Correct" and "Right Now" (this actual hit discusses Ms. Right; Mr. Right appears later), the quartet soars into several airwave-friendly dimensions: "Last Man on the Moon" deserves heavy rotation, "Fame" features downright wondrous keys with a clever Kinks reference, and closer "Paul McCartney" owes more musically to Venus and Mars than Sgt. Pepper. SR-71 also swipes from the Stones, but the Spin Doctors aside in "Non-Toxic" seems closer to home. Take the time to see inside SR-71's debut. Like any commercial band, SR-71 morphs into whatever is on the radio, so the sophomore effort chases nauseously neurotic nu-metal; luckily, the delectably disposable Now You See Inside delivers pure pop for now people, and they need it now.

This CD is incredibly fun, uplifting and food for the passionate music enthusiast. I originally saw SR-71 when they were ''Honor Among Thieves'' at a battle of the bands and was blown away with their music adeptness and presentation. They definitely were not one of those bands where you were just praying they played a cover that you recognized. Although they are wearing a different look (i.e. Mitch's absent tresses that I remember being distracted by when speaking to him), the sound is just as incredible and fresh if not better. This album has it all. The variance in music tonality from mellow to upbeat, some songs teasing with a subtle softness only to kick in when the beat drops. The incredibly lusty lyrics will touch everybody's inner being and a ''I've been there'' understanding brings their songs home. Mitch's distinct voice and vocal range will make him the envy of all ''up and comers'' and put them ahead of the pack. If you want a CD that is going to change your entire day and attitude, this is the one for you.

What really attracted me to SR71 was the fact that they are so like Blink 182!!! They are becoming very popular as more and more people come to enjoy their music. There is no reason for anyone not to own this amazing CD. Mitch is the best and he is also a hottie IF YOU DON''T OWN THIS CD THEN YOU GET UP AND GET IT RIGHT NOW! (no joke intended)

This cd is so much fun to listen to. This cd includes their hit songs right now, and politically correct. Sr-71 is a great band. Some people have said that their music is one in a million. I would rate this cd as a five star cd.

I had heard ''Politically Correct'' and ''Right Now'' on the radio before I went to see SR-71 live. But when I heard the other songs in their set, I went right over to the merchandise boy and bought their CD. The other songs on the album are different than the first two singles musically, but lyrically they maintain the same superior song-writing quality that this band has. This is seriously one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life, and one of the best bands. I was amazed at their range of topics and approaches. And they are kickin' performers!

Sr-71 is sooo talented that I fell in love with them that moment I heard them. They have songs I really can relate to and the song ''Alive'' is the best.It has a lot of meaning to it.I thought of things differently from what they sang about. It's really a sad song, but the best.

This album is definitely one of the best albums of the summer. Right Now is a summer anthem sounding song which makes this album great! The songs in there like Another Night Alone and Fame (What she's wanting) make this album a great album for helping with those sudden breakups!

this cd has a little bit of everything,so it will please most open minded music lovers. i don't want to tear it up song by song, however the majority of it is what i've read prior to plunkin' down my dollars. great cd,i am wearing it out already. well, let's just talk about one song .........my girlfriend/crackhead/junkie just left rehab to save us,but i am too p o'd to even acknowledge her for reasons i won't elaborate on.......politically correct has as it's chorus....."i don't mean to piss you off"..............but i do, she lives downstairs in a double home we share so at 4 in the morning my bose cranks that out.............great tune!!!!!!!!!

I bought this album a few years ago, I still have it, I still listen to it, and I still think it is one of the greatest albums I have ever listened to. This album will always remind me of my first semester in college and of those strange years when one is caught in the middle of life. My favorite song is "Non-Toxic", but I like all of them more or less to the same degree. If you like new alternative bands that still have some music to them, with no noise and no anger, and plenty of acoustic sounds, you simply need to get this album. I was truly amazed by this band from the very beginning, and I must say it renewed my faith in new bands and convinced me that even today some people are still making some good, serious music.
