Meet the Author

Terry Odell was born in Los Angeles, moved to Florida, and now makes her home in Colorado. An avid reader (her parents tell everyone they had to move from their first home because she finished the local library), she always wanted to "fix" stories so the characters did what she wanted. Once she began writing, she found this wasn't always possible, as evidenced when the mystery she intended to write rapidly became a romance. When she thought about it, she realized that her favorite mysteries were series where she could follow the developing relationships of the protagonist—to the point where she'd read the book twice; once for the relationship and again to follow the crime and its solution. So, she started reading romance, and found there was a genre that included mystery themes as well as a relationship.

Although her genre is labeled "romantic suspense", Terry prefers to think of her books as "Mysteries With Relationships." You can find more about her at her website, http://www.terryodell.com.

    Former cop Colleen MacDonald left her life in Pine Hills, Oregon for a
    fresh start in Orlando, Florida. But starting over is harder than she
    thought because the nightmares find her just the same. When she meets
    hunky patrol officer Graham Harrigan, she learns her new landlord,
    Jeffrey Walker, might be missing. The cop in her is intrigued by the
    puzzle. As she and Graham start to untangle deadly threads, an
    attraction develops and deepens between them, complicating matters.
    Bodies pile up and Colleen realizes her heart is another casualty. She’s
    lost it to Graham, but his job triggers her nightmares and gives her
    panic attacks. She ran from trouble before. Will she run again? Odell
    writes a compelling story rich with insights into the world of cops and
    medicine. Her take on stressful situations resonate long after the last
    page is turned.

    Page-Turner

Colleen MacDonald, suffering from Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder learns that the trouble with running away is that you take yourself with you - even the subconscious tags along with its bag of nightmares.

    Feeling like a failure, Colleen moves from Oregon to Florida to start life over. Determined to make a life that has nothing to do with law enforcement, she almost panics when a uniformed cop show up at her door in less than 24 hours after she arrives in Orlando.

    Graham Harrigan, a cop on a trial period to become a detective, makes a routine house call following up on call from a concerned daughter and meets the green-eyed, red-haired Colleen - not his type but intriguing. Her attitude is not what he usually encounters and that makes him wonder what she is hiding.

    The forgetful Doris, Colleen's landlady, and Tracy, Colleen's new friend liven up life for Colleen, even though Doris does prove to be somewhat of a mystery. Patrolman Clarke, Graham's nemesis, creates tension but nothing like the mystery man that comes and goes from Doris' house. However, the man the reader never meets proves to be a mighty force in the mystery that propels Graham and Colleen along on an investigation that starts with a tiny clue. As one small clue builds on top of another, Colleen gets more and more involved but her panic attacks and nightmares keep her at odds with her activities with Graham and makes her doubt her ability to have a future with him.

    Terry Odell creates characters that the reader can empathize with and cheer on as they cope with overwhelming challenges.
