Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

When the second 39 Clues series ended in March, zealot fans were already speculating about the third. Here it is. A nest of net villains with scary prodigies have snatched the transformative serum that the Cahill family has successfully defended for five centuries. Trouble ahead for Cahill teenagers Amy and Danny, and their cast of supporters.

Children's Literature - Mary Thompson
Each author brings something unique to every installment of the "39 Clues" series, but the one common trait is the larger than life unstoppable, roller coaster fun. Amy Cahill, now sixteen, and her thirteen-year-old brother, Dan, have enough trouble in their lives and they simply cannot catch a break. Even though they recently reunited the family and decimated a global criminal organization, someone out there still wants them dead. The siblings and their caretaker, Nellie, face their deadliest enemy yet—wealthy politician, Pierce, who controls the media and launches a smear campaign against them. Soon they are under investigation for embezzlement and forced to go into hiding. Pierce's goal is to find the secret Cahill serum formula and make his own army of supermen. Included in this installment is a trip to Ireland, where they embark on a deadly chase on jet skis and surfboards over thirty foot waves, a search through the wilds outside Istanbul for the elusive Anatolian leopard, and an awesome flash mob. As with all volumes in this series, there is a heart stopping cliffhanger. Reviewer: Mary Thompson

The Cahill super serum is in jeopardy…or has it already been compromised? Just when 13-year-old Dan and 16-year-old Amy Cahill began to think life might approach some semblance of normalcy at the Attleboro, Mass., estate they inherited from their grandmother Grace, the former matriarch of the Cahills, they are attacked at the graveside services for their attorney, Mr. McIntyre, and nearly buried alive. Then their faces are splashed over every tabloid and gossip website in town along with outlandish lies that portray them as spoiled rich kids. And then the federal government begins to investigate them for embezzlement. Someone is definitely after them. Following the trail leads to media mogul J. Rutherford Pierce, who came out of nowhere to control newspapers and businesses across the country. Disturbingly strong and invulnerable henchmen keep attacking; could the serum that Dan and Amy fought so hard to protect, the biggest secret of the Cahill clans, have been leaked? What would that mean to the Cahills…and the world? Good thing the branches of the family are still working together. Series veteran Watson kicks off a new quartet of Cahill adventures with a collection of showy, unrealistic action scenes sprinkled with a few puzzles and populated by two often inconsistent main characters. Pedestrian writing won't matter to series fans. Trading cards and online games will drive this offshoot series to the Gordon Korman–penned conclusion next year. (Multiplatform fiction. 8-12)

    Doesnt need to end.

I have not read it yet but why is everyone saying it needs to end. I would be upset if it ended. Its like rick riordans percy jackson series i just cant imagine it ending. Im sure it will be great and am hoping for a fourth series after this one.

    Cant a Cant wait

I havnt read this book but i know its going to be good. I dont care if anybody thinks that the 39 clues is to long. I already feel like i am a part of the cahills so i cant stop reading them. By the way, this isnt just the third series its the fifth, technically speaking. There are two other sub-series. The cahill files is amazing. I havent read the other though. READ THEM. Just because i havent read it doesnt mean i cant give it five stars

Awesome, but it needs to wrap up.

This was a good book, but I am kind of ready for the series ro be over. I feel like they are really trying to drag it out to much though. Dont get me wrong, Amy and Dan rock, Jake and Atticus are boss, and Ian is the best. But no matter how good the books are, I think that it will still feel drawn out. Day Of Doom could have easily been their mostly-happy-ending-but-not-really-cause-Evan-died. So, the book is 4 stars but I hope they end it soon.

YES!! I have fallen in love with the first series and the second

YES!! I have fallen in love with the first series and the second but 110% sure I did NOT like DAY OF DOOM :( All the rest of the books were great but there were quite a few things that I could argue about.... But I love this new series! Keep E'm Coming! But Hey, You know who would be absolutely perfect for the fourth book? JENNIFER NIELSEN! The series would just be perfect with her Or RICK RIODAN Again! He started off the first series with Maze of Bones... If he hadn't written it, I may have not finished the series because caught Maze of Bones caught my attention! I READ TWO OR THREE BOOKS OF THE SERIES A DAY IT'S THAT GOOD! ALSO YU MUST TRY THE ASCENDANCE TRILOGY STARTING WITH THE FIRST BOOK 'THE FALSE PRINCE' BY JENNIFER NIELSEN!

    How?

How can they continue without Natalie, Alistair, Isabel, the Vespers, and Evan? What more could you possibly think of? But I do like that it is continuing. I hate it when a good series ends.

Another series! I am both happy but at the same time I thi the series is a bit too long. Not saying it should end right away but it is still a good series.

    Amy and Jake

I love this series dont get me wrong i truley do its just that if i were the one writing this i would make it a little bit more PG-13. I would have kept Natalie Ians baby sister who by the way was 13 when she and i will never understand this or why but Vesper One or i know this is awful and gruesome) ,Natalie
Killed her i like to think that Vesper One killed her but i know the truth Natalie did something in her final moments before she even knew that what she did was going to kill her she was trying to fight with ian by her side to defeat vesper one when she saw the machine that was going to destroy the world and picked up a crow bar and started hitting the machine trying to destroy it her brother was cheering her on but that was before he saw the sparks of electricity flying he screamed at natalie to get away and drop the crow bar but it was too late she had alerady hit the machine and the sparks went up the crow bar and shocked natalie and she fell to the floor ian thought that he might be able to save her but he knew that she was gone forever. Now on to amy i think that there needed to be some teenage pregnancy with her it would be very dramatic if she discovers while in a cave hiding from peirces men while her friends and brother and boyfriend are in caves above her hiding so amy is not feeling well and she thinks that if she closes her eyes and counts to ten she will feel better she barley reaches five when a wave of nausea hits her and she opens her eyes turns around to the corner and throws up after she finishes a second round of barfing five minutes later she pulls out her phone and texts jake saying that she doesnt feel well so she sends it to him and immediatly he replies i will be right down but before he reaches her she realizes something she was feeling fine during the hike and now this it can only mean one thing that she was pregnant and then she turns around again to barf this one was a second longer than the others she just finishes when she hears footsteps heading her way so she goes to the corner that doesnt have barf in it and backs into the shawdos then she sees a figure outline in the moonlight at the entrance of the cave then she hears him say Amy, are you okay its jake then he sees her in the left corner of the cave and
