Purpose: The purpose is to provide nuclear medicine departments with basic information about routine procedures and a quick reference guide.
Audience: This book is useful for students who are just learning nuclear medicine and practicing technologists who need a reference. The author is a nuclear medicine technologist.
Features: All aspects of each procedure are covered in an easy to follow format. The book details radiopharmaceuticals and doses, indications, contraindications, patient preparation, procedures, and guidelines for computer acquisition. Also covered are normal and abnormal results, special notes, and artifacts that may appear. The book even provides suggested questions to ask the patient for a good history to provide to the reading physician. It not only details how to do a procedure but also provides reference tables such as conversion tables, normal values for lab tests, and common words in foreign languages.
