Number Cross Puzzles: A Quick and Challenging Workout for Your Brain based on 0 ratings. 3 reviews.
A fun book for a little numeric workout. I like crossword puzzles and Sudoku and this is a new twist that creates a different type of challenge. No, it doesn't require advanced math skills to solve the puzzles but it is entertaining and makes for an interesting mental exercize.
There are 5-7 numbers to a puzzle and your done, alright for kids learning or anyone wanting to try it. If you have done number fill-ins it is a waste of money.
Actually 4 1/2 stars!! I never review anything online but very pleased with this book. My daughter started doing these puzzles with one of her classmates at a play date and asked if she could get a copy so we did and she LOVES it. Her friend has the purple copy (teacher's version?) and I think we're going to order that one two. The puzzles in this red version seem to be a little harder so big sister and I are getting her started with a few hints. She didn't need any hints in the purple one (that one seems a little easier). Daughter just turned 9 and has never liked anything to do with math or numbers until now. I think she will be even more encouraged when she gets a copy of the easier book and doesn't need any clues to get her started. I ordered the book at the store on Saturday and we got it yesterday. I wish for it to be available at the store instead of having to wait for it to ship because I would go pick it up and have it waiting for her after school today. I let her start the book last night after homework and dinner and she skipped video games and tv to keep playing puzzles until bedtime. and this is my kid that hates math?! Thinking about buying a copy for my husband also. He travels a lot for work and has some down time at the airport but doesn't always feel like working out an entire sudoku while he waits. This looks likes a crossword puzzles but with numbers instead of words. Very simple idea and easy to understand. Maybe buy more as stocking stuffers too this year! Very fun.
