3.5 stars This was not at all what I expected. I origianlly decided to pass on reding this book after reading the beginning during the blog tour. I was under the impression that the book was going to be MUCH darker than it was, and I opted not to buy it because I didn't think that I would appreciate or enjoy it. I started an anthology that this was a part of and decided to give it a few chapters last night and was hooked. I didn't realize how much this story is about discovery, change, acceptance, growth and love. The beginning tragedy/description was the worst part for me and I was grateful that the book did not dwell on the incident. It is integral to the story and to the man he became, so it is necessary. It was a treasure to see the growth of the girls as well as William. There are a couple things that were left in the air for me, but I would recommend this book (as well as this author) again and again.

Amazing  Bella Jewel is one of my favourite Authors. I've read all of her books, and never been disappointed. And this one is no different.  This book is so far on the other end of the scale different than all of Bella's other books. But I loved it.  IF DARK BOOKS DO NOT DO IT FOR YOU DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.  This book is dark, it contains slaves, hints of abuse and cruelty. but if you read the lines in between you get what this story is about.  William is a boy who as a child hates school and try s very hard to stay hidden and not be noticed, but one day on the way to school he is targeted in the worse possible way and his life is forever changed.  He buys girls and tries to make there life better. The way in which he does this is wrong but to William it makes sense. The girls that he gets are girls whose lives have already been hit in the worst possible way, some were slaves, some had been abused, William tries to change there lives.  What can I say about this book, except It's not for everyone. But for me the lines in between meant that even through William was broken beyond comprehension, he never consciously wants to hurt them he thinks he's saving them from the live they had. he never wanted to hurt them the way he was hurt or forgotten the way he was.  Underneath everything William doesn't think he deserves someone to love him, why would they because of they way he looks, he's looking for that special someone who can see past all of the outside and see what's truly underneath. Isn't that what we all what?  This book shocked the life out of me it made me gasp, cry and I couldn't stop reading it.     Bella, thank you for writing this book I thought it was amazing. You took such a taboo subject and wrote it perfectly. It certainly made me sit up. The characters were flawless. I think there is nothing in it that I would of said to change.  I give this 5/5 stars and 3/5 for movie moments.

I must say, this story was a good one. I enjoyed that it was different. It held my attention throughout the book but I found there was something missing. Maybe it's because I used to the same boring romances, but I didn't feel the sizzle between William and number 13. None the less, it was refreshing to read something different.

I have been reading all the hype behind this one, and have been DYING to read it. The hype simply did not do it justice! I loved it. Talk about a rollercoaster! This book had me from the first time I read the synopsis! It is true to life when it comes to sticking a bunch of women together who don't know each other. I mean lets get real. Women can be catty!!! William... hmm, what can be said about someone who is broken at such a young age? Monster is what would come to mind. Does he grow into that or not? Hmmm... you will have to read to find out! Lets just say, I fell in love with him, monster or not! Number 13. Damn, is she a strong 1! This book has it all. Heart wrenching sadness, amazing highs, and lows, and we will throw a bit of love in there too! All in a story that was AMAZINGLY relayed to me, the reader! I absolutely loved it! The only thing I would change??? The ending.... hmmm... I am a series kinda girl. I would LOVE to hear a little more of what happened after!! HINT HINT!!! Bella - AMAZING job! I adored it!!!

The storyline was quite interesting, but I wish the story would have gone just a bit further. The ending didn't seem complete and I would have loved to see more into William and #13 relationship. Very good book, though.

I'm a big fan of Bella Jewel and would totally recommend you read her MC Sinners series - which was awesome. However, Number Thirteen fell short for me. The premise sounded exciting but the execution wasn't what I expected. These 13 women are kidnapped (so they think), taken to a mansion, tattood with a number on their hands (they cannot remember their names) and cannot remember anything about their past because they are drugged and hypnotized into forgetting it. They are kept under guard by a man they called Master. Their "master" William is a damaged man in both spirit and appearance. Though he sees himself as their savior, and in a way he is, 2 of these women die at his hands. That colored the rest of the story for me. It lingered in the background through the rest of the book. William and Number 13 connect and the relationship progresses but it didn't work for me. There were aspects that I enjoyed. Number 13 is a fighter! I liked that about her. It is what draws William to her. Their interactions are intering and the sex is hot. The ending, where they all come back together, seemed brainwashy cultish to me. Having said all that would I read another Bella Jewel book? Absofreakinglutely. Please do yourself a favor and check out her MC Sinners series.

I impatiently awaited the arrival of this book and can say that once I received it I was NOT disappointed! I absolutely loved this book! There were a lot of things about the book that I wasn't expecting to happen. I read it all in one sitting! Can't wait to see if there is more!

I am fairly new to reading books of this genre. I took the chance of reading this because I liked the cover and the author's work. I am so very glad that I did. This was an amazing read. William was a character that had to grow on me. I liked that the author gave us his back story. I didn't understand at first how one thing led to another, but by the end I got it. There were twists and turns that I simply wasn't expecting. Number 13 just makes you care about her. The strength and stubbornness that she portrays just makes you want to get to know her better. You want to know why and how she's able to keep going with so many other things going on. The revolving POVs, the extras, the general goings-on and the ending of this story had me thinking from WTH were you thinking buying this to why did you wait so long to start reading these. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Jewel's work in this genre. It was surprisingly pleasing.

This is definitely my favorite book of 2014 I' ve read so far! Bella Jewel doesn't disappoint! This was a beautiful story. Unlike anything I've ever read. Like she's said....it is not bdsm. I wasn't sure what to expect with this one and I don't want to give anything away. Let me just say....I shed a few tears from the beginning! Loved it!
