School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 3-7 Beginning programmers will find the information provided in Numbers an easy way to develop an understanding of BASIC programming. Petty uses game programs that relay simple number concepts as examples in presenting the information. The programs provided, accompanied by colorful artwork, are easily entered in an Apple IIe computer. They become progressively longer and more difficult throughout the book. The examples given could easily be integrated into math classes as supplementary activities to the curriculum. A glossary of simple terms is also provided. While the sample programs are accurate, the layout of the Apple IIe keyboard as pictured is not. This book could be easily used to turn students on to computer programming. SWZ
