Such as this latest audio release from Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po, which happens to be their second recording. Mind you, those who aren't habitual viewers of the 'Tubbies' daily TV show - namely, many parents -- may have a tough time following along with the typically free-flowing, almost stream-of-consciousness proceedings. The premise is that the Teletubbies are learning nursery rhymes, but this is no rote recital of Mother Goose. Instead, a rather prim and schoolmarmish female voice says the rhymes, which the ...

Instead, a rather prim and schoolmarmish female voice says the rhymes, which the 'Tubbies then repeat in their rather controversial baby babble. Then Tinky Winky and pals ask for the rhyme again, so the lady obliges them. There are long musical interludes, much baby chuckling (presumably by the little cherub whose face serves as the sun in Teletubbyland), and the ever-familiar voice of narrator Rolf Saxon intoning in his most let's-get-comfy-and-listen voice, "One day in Teletubbyland…." Nursery rhymes here include "Humpty Dumpty," "Little Miss Muffet," "Jack and Jill," "Banbury Cross" (also known as "Ride a Cock Horse"), and "Grand Old Duke of York." Also along for the ride are classic baby games like "Pat-A-Cake" and even Teletubbies "Exercises." I'd be very curious to find out if children who've never seen the show still react favorably to the albums; my guess would be no (but I've been known to be wrong.) By the same token, I can't imagine hardcore "Teletubbies" TV fans not going absolutely gaga for the albums. Think of it this way: TELETUBBIES NURSERY RHYMES's car-trip value alone is probably incalculable.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Nursery Rhymes and Other Fun Songs! features the Teletubbies' interpretations of nursery rhyme classics as well as original songs. "Humpty Dumpty," "Little Miss Muffet," "Jack & Jill," and "Ride a Cock-Horse" are a few of the album's traditional songs, while Laa Laa, Dipsy, Tinky Winky and Po's renditions of "The Teletubbies Theme," "Tubby Conga," and "Jumping Dance" tie the rest of the album to the popular PBS show.
