Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Shari J. Lynn, RN, MSN (Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing)
Description: This is an alphabetized quick pocket reference on medications that includes common herbal supplements.
Purpose: The purpose is to create a pocket drug reference. The guide meets this worthy objective..
Audience: This book appears to be written for those in all specialties with some working drug knowledge. The author appears to have a solid background regarding pharmacology.
Features: The guide is very concise. The information is brief and highlights the more important aspects of medication administration. The only apparent shortcoming appears to be the small print which gives the book a run-on appearance.
Assessment: This is an updated version and although informative, is not as precise as other books of its kind. I would not recommend this for students, as it is more of an important points reference whereas the student needs more initial information.
