The Nursing Home Fugitive Georgiann Baldino weaves a complex, moving story that speaks to issues that most of us or our loved ones have either dealt with, or will eventually. Through the true-to-life character of Clive Parisi, the book explores the issues surrounding aging, dementia, and the tightrope that family caregivers walk - in balancing respect for their loved one’s independence, versus the pursuit of the patient’s wellbeing. Bottom line: What is the patient’s best interests, and whose decision should that be? This book is touching and also unpredictable, just like our real lives. In fact, it was so true-to-life, that I had to continually remind myself that it was fiction. Buy or borrow this book.

This is an incredibly heart-warming and inspirational book. Clive takes us with him on his final journey. We meet quirky characters, feel his joys and frustrations, and identify with his relationships.

I loved this book! The story line was so new and fresh. I loved traveling with Clive, feeling his feelings, and sharing his experiences vicariously. Like another of Georgiann Baldino's books, 'The Acts of Judas,' there are concurrent story lines, weaving a rich and statisfying read.
