Purpose: The purpose is to present material related to various disorders covering the cause, signs and symptoms, diagnostic tests, treatment and nursing considerations.
Audience: Practicing nurses, nursing students, and other healthcare providers can use this book. It is written by registered nurses from various settings, and some are advanced practitioners.
Features: This is an alphabetical listing of nearly 500 diseases from acne to wounds, and open trauma. The discussion of each disorder includes etiology, history and assessment findings, results of diagnostic tests, treatment options and nursing care. Imbedded in the content are clinical alerts, drug therapy tips, and emergency interventions.
Assessment: This would be a good source of information on any medical-surgical setting. The information is concise and essential.
