I'm a nursing mother of twins who went back to a demanding job after 3 mos at home with our kids. This book really helped answer most of my questions and gave me tips on making the nursing process easier and more rewarding for both me and my girls. While it didn't have an extensive twin section it provided me with great encouragement, good idea of what to eat and medicing to take or not take, reinforced the knowledge that breastmilk is best and if you keep working hard at it you can do it! The book also helps you figure out what you can do when you go back to work. Also had the help of a lactation consultant who recomended the book for at home help.

Having this book was like having a lactation consultant on hand 24/7. I actually never had to call a consultant for help, partly because I got lucky (nursing was relatively easy for me), but mainly because Huggins' book does such an incredible job of explaining how nursing works, and how to "troubleshoot" at different stages. Absolutely indispensable advice for the nursing mom!

I received this book from my hospital after my cesarean. This book is amazing. It is very helpful and well organized. I would recommend it to any new or expecting mother who would like to breastfeed.

This is a great guide for the nursing mother. Also gives some terrific information about overall baby care. Buy this book and read it before you have the baby.

This book did not get my attention like i thought it would. I thought it would help me out with my young children. However, it did not do a damn thing as far as being a mother in this century. Maybe I just read it wrong and got the wrong impression from the title, but as far as I'm concerned, this book was the biggest waste of time that I have spent. This book could be compared to another terrible book that everyone seems to fuss about. Harry Potter.

I read this book religiously when I had my daughter - not a complete, all you need title, but with this book and the help of a good pediatrician - breastfeeding just got a little easier! There were lots of good tips for different problems that could be encountered. I'd highly recommend this title!

By far the best book on nursing I've read so far. It even has a section on nursing an adopted infant, not just a mention as in some other books. I'd highly recommend it to anyone considering breastfeeding.

This is an awesome book. It really helped me with nursing my first child two years ago for almost a year. And i am currently re-reading it as I am expecting our second child. I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to nurse her baby.

I'm still happily nursing my 8-month-old son, thanks in large part to this book. Our first few weeks were tough going, but Kathleen had the answers to ALL my questions, which helped me to stick with it. I wish hospitals gave this book to every new breastfeeding mom, but since they don't, it's going to become a standard baby shower gift from me.

Kathleen Huggins - God Bless You! Common sense, straitforward which is what all moms need when tackling breastfeeding, be it the first time or repeats. I just had my second, a son, four months ago and have been having milk production issues. I checked this resource first thing, and now I'm in great shape. The fenugreek capsule recommendation (WOW! Never knew this was so safe - it's what manufacturers use to give maple flavor to pancake syrup) and the practical guide to increasing supply (which I adapted for the older infant) worked like a charm. This reference can pretty much ease any fears a nursing mom will experience.
