Dr. Quiana M. Shamsid-Deen is a devoted social worker, educator, social entrepreneur, and children's book author with a heart rooted in healing and storytelling. Born in Queens, New York, to Jamaican parents, Dr. Shamsid-Deen holds a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Southern California and has spent over 15 years serving children and families with care, advocacy, and joy.As the executive director of the Supreme Family Foundation, she champions food security and wellness for seniors and vulnerable communities. Alongside her husband, she co-leads successful ventures in the restaurant industry and empowers Black women and communities through her consulting firm, NyaPearl Solutions.But it is through the pages of her children's books that Dr. Shamsid-Deen shares her most personal and profound journey. Inspired by the brief yet beautiful life of her first daughter, Nya Iman-who passed away from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome in 2017-she writes to preserve Nya's memory and nurture healing spaces for families navigating grief.Her newest book, Nya's Enchanted Garden, is a continuation of that tribute, drawing readers into a magical world where love, loss, and wonder grow side by side.
