O Pioneers! is a 1913 novel by American author Willa Cather. It was her first novel of her Great Plains trilogy, and written after she was living and working in New York. O Pioneers! tells the story of the Bergsons, a family of Swedish immigrants in the farm country near the fictional town of Hanover, Nebraska, at the turn of the 20th century. The main character, Alexandra Bergson, inherits the family farmland when her father dies, and she devotes her life to making the farm a viable enterprise at a time when other immigrant families are giving up and leaving the prairie. The novel is also concerned with 2 romantic relationships, one between Alexandra and family friend Carl Linstrum & another between Alexandra's brother Emil & the married Marie Shabata. (Wikipedia)

This book is very interesting in it's own way plus some sad parts and true love too. Also being smart and independ will be successful sometimes.

A good book though ends sad and does not have much of a point to me. It moves very quickly but I enjoyed it.

This is free and the book is great, but this copy of it is not edited. Great book, bad copy.

It was an okay book, but I didn't like the ending at all. I also didn't understand the authors thinking. I'm glad I didn't pay more than a dollar for it.

This was a wonderful story about a strong pioneering woman. Well written story focused on the main character growning up in the frontier. Nicely done classic.
