The curse of the father is passed on to his son. In a blurry haze of drunkenness and rage, Kyril beats his wife, the Lady Valentina to death. The critical situation in the domain forces Dyan to terminate his training at Arilinn Tower early. Before leaving the Tower, Fiora of Arilinn, the Keeper of Arilinn has Dyan take the monitor's Oath. Now he will face the decision on how to handle the madness of his father and to keep his dedication to the Tower too.
