Overview

How did the Obama campaign’s mostly under-30 field organizers, using cell phones and the Internet, energize a nation to vote for change?

How did an unlikely candidate engage every American in the democratic process and ignite a movement that ended eras of political cynicism and apathy?

The Obama Revolution is an in-the-trenches look at how President Barack Obama mobilized a generation to reclaim America. In this timely book, author Alan Kennedy-Shaffer draws a vivid picture of grassroots organizing, from the grueling all-nighters to the endless canvassing. His rhetorical analysis also explores what exactly Obama did to clinch the Democratic nomination, how he won the election, and what he plans to do as president.

Painstakingly documented and insightful, The Obama Revolution is a must-read for anyone—Democrat, Republican, or Independent—who wants to understand the phenomenon of Barack Obama and how his campaign toppled the status quo.
