[ob-li-gey-shuh n]
An obligation is a course of action that someone is required to take, whether legal or moral.

At six years old, Myla was sent to a family her father and mother had chosen for her when they knew their time on earth was almost up. What they were unaware of was what they thought would be her safe haven would become her living hell.

Kai has been watching Myla from afar since he took over the family business from his father and inherited the responsibility of keeping her safe. When word gets back to Kai that Myla is not only in danger, but that his assets are being compromised, he immediately jumps into action and does the only thing that can be done at the time by marrying her.

Neither Myla nor Kai would have thought that something that started off as a farce would become the most important thing either of them could've ever done.

## FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. Oh how I adored this book. I accidentally read Sven's story first (which I also loved), but I highly recommend reading them in order. Everything makes way more sense now. This hero "Kai", WOW, just wow. Let me pick my tongue up off the floor so we can talk about him. His description was really something. I imagined him looking like Jason Momoa with his hot Hawaiian looks and long dark hair (be sure to google him if you don't know who I'm talking about). He and Myla were so good together. You could just feel their connection right off the bat. Thank you Ms. Reynolds for going against the grain and not writing Myla as some pathetic doormat. This was a fun and sexy read and I'd love to rate it even higher if I could. Apprx. 180 pages.

This book did not feel complete. There seemed to be all these secrets he was keeping from her, they were either not memorable. secrets or they were never discussed. I did not like this book as much as all of her other books.

Obligation by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the second book in her Underground Kings series. It is yet another powerhouse of emotion. She is wuickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Every book I have read so far, the characters just speak to me on an emotional level and I get so emotionally invested in the stories. Myla and Kai have a very rocky start to their marriage. 1) It's a farce. A means of keeping her protected. 2) Neither one wants their heart broken. Kai has always known how he has felt about her but Myla doesn't remember their first encounter. She finds herself falling for the guy that rescued her but after her past she is not ready to let down walls. 3) The danger is still iminent. A wonderful story - can't wait to read more.

5 star I was pulled right into this story. This story contains heartbreak, and suspense. If you have not already read the below I recommend reading them first: Assumption (Underground Kings, #1) This is Myla and Kai's story. Kai and Myla have known each other since they were little. When Myla finds herself in trouble she runs to Kai. With danger all around so these two even stand a chance? Can Kai protect Myla all the while falling harder for her? With the threat of danger around is it safe for them to unleash all the passion and love they have for one another? Or will that passion be the one thing that holds them together in this suspense fueled dangerous time? I highly recommend this story and this series. Can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next.

Obligation by Aurora Rose Reynolds 5 Outstanding Stars Outstandingly Good!!! This is without a doubt a 5 star read. This was an outstanding read that kept me so captivated that I couldn’t put this one down. I now have a book hangover. It’s a story that I loved so much that I hated to see it come to an end and when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it.  I will be putting this one on my to be read again shelf cause it was just that good. I loved everything about Kai and Myla’s story. Their chemistry was off the charts hot. Kai is my perfect Alpha male with him being protective, possessive, romantic and a true bad boy all in one. How can you not fall in love? I loved how Myla is a take no crap kinda girl. Yeah, she had her moments of just letting things go, but when push came to shove she would stand her ground. There are quite a few parts that had me laughing out loud and there is one that had me holding my breath.   Aurora is an amazing writer and this book definitely shows that. Don’t pass this one by and fall in love with this really hot alpha male known as Kai!!! You won’t regret it!

Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my favorite authors. No matter what story she writes, she always finds the way to present it in such a way that it captures your attention from the first few words and keeps you on your toes until the very end. I always feel like I know the characters she writes about, they are just so real. Obligation is not an exception. Once I dived into the book, I resurfaced only when I read the very last word. And I was still craving more. I just wanted more Kay and Myla, and Uncle Frank (he was definitely a fun character :D ), and I definitely wanted to read some more about Sven and Maggie :) such a pity I will have to wait for awhile until I can read their story :) Kai is quite an interesting character. He pretty much implements the term TALL, DARK and DANGEROUS :D But he is also so tender and romantic with Myla. I loved the contrast between his two sides. It was definitely intriguing to read how he changes because of the feelings he has for Myla. How his love for her makes him softer in his interactions with her but at same time it makes him even more fierce in trying to protect her, no matter the cost. I loved reading how he changed little by little in order to become Myla's perfect other half. I definitely enjoyed the feeling that they were meant to be together and in a way Kai felt it when he met her for the first time when he was only ten years old :) Myla is also quite an intriguing character. One one side she is strong, independent and even stubborn from time to time. But she is also terrified from the demons in her past that make her feel vulnerable and weak. I loved seeing how Kai's love and devotion helped her overcome some of her fears and even healed the worst wounds from her teenage years. His determination to keep her safe and to avenge her lost innocence helped her feel protected and cherished. It also helped her to learn how to trust again, to depend on the person beside her and to be sure that he is never going to hurt her. In a way, Kay and Myla are perfect for each other. Together, they helped each other to overcome their demons and to grow up as personalities :)  If I have to describe the book in a few words that would be intriguing, fascinating, fast paced, enchanting :) I enjoyed every single word of it and that's why I think it is definitely a must read. And if you haven't read any of Aurora Rose Reynolds'  books up till now, you should definitely correct your mistake :) I just can't wait to see what she is going to write next :) This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

4 stars What can I say….I love Author Aurora Rose Reynolds ability to take us away from our real lives and let us enjoy the world she builds with her words for us.  And this book is no different.  Come fall into the world of Kai and I have no doubt that you will be looking for your very one Kai in real life. Myla has been a fighter all her life after losing her parents but going to a family that would treat her as their own.  But sometimes all the pretty on the outside becomes ugly on the inside of her family.  And after a while the truth of this ugliness comes out.  Myla does the best she can do, leaves the first change she gets. As she is trying to get her new life in order, she encounters more trouble but this huge man, Kai, seems to step in and takes over.  They are actually old friends from when they were younger.  Although she does not remember the first time they meet, Kai has never forgotten it.  He has been watching her grow up into this beautiful woman. When Kai steps in and tells Myla what is going to happen in her life now so that he can keep her safe, she tries to do exactly what he says.  But she is fighting herself.  How will she keep the thoughts of Kai to herself?  When things start to heat up between them, sparks are bound to fly off the pages of the book.  Wow.   There is drama, love, sex and suspense.  I can not wait for the next in this series.

Myla and Kai start out the book married but Myla is in the dark as to how long Kai has been looking out for her and what his intentions are.  She mistakes some of his feelings for just him having to look out for her and thinks she is just an obligation.  Kai does not handle being in a relationship and sharing what is going on well with Myla.  After doing something very hurtful, Kai knows that he has to battle to get Myla to forgive him and work out their issues.  It was well done and mirrored some of Assumption so we got even more background as to what was going on behind the scenes of that one.  Myla spent most of the book unaware of what was going on and why her inheritance put her in danger.  When it all comes out, she is left reeling and trying to figure out how all of this plays into her future.  Kai stands by his word and does all he can to keep her safe.  It had a nice progression to their story and was not just glossed over.  Very nice ending and am looking forward to Sven's book.
