In the woods, a shekit, black-and-white furred, with wide blue eyes, was sitting alone. Nobody knew where she had come from. She was starved and small. Some suspected she was of BloodClan origin. A tom came to her. He was ashy gray, with blue eyes. "Come," he purred. "My name is Ashstar and you can join AshClan." The shekit, named Shatteredkit, didn't know what to do, but when she came to AshClan's camp, she was amazed. Large numbers of cats sat, ate, chatted, or stood. She had never seen so many cats. Ashstar brushed through them, taking Shatteredkit to the Medicine Den. Some cats stared. Some went along with their business. Shatteredkit hung limply in Ashstar's jaws unknowing of what to think, and was gently put down on a bed of moss in a cozy cave. A snowy white shecat bounded from the back of the cavern. When she spotted Shatteredkit, her green eyes widened. "What an adorable shekit!" She exclaimed.<br> "Yes, yes," Ashstar purred, "But she needs food, Angelthorn. Look how starved she is."<br> Immediately Angelthorn got a fat mouse from the Freshkill Pile. Shatteredkit ate all she wanted. It was delicious.<br> "Hello?" A cocoa-brown shecat with amber eyes padded in softly. "Oh!" She mewed, as she saw Shatteredkit. "I'll be her mother," she volunteered. <br> "Good," Ashstar mewed, his eyes sparkling. "Now l must find Kestrelmoon." He padded out and Shatteredkit saw him join a silver shecat. The cocoa colored shecat, whose name, Shatteredkit quickly learned, was Burrgleam, and Burrgleam's mate was Emberstreak. They became her parents. Days passed. Soon Shatteredkit became Shatteredpaw, the apprentice of a shecat named Ravenflight. One day, a new tom came to AshClan. His name was Northpaw. One hunting trip together and Northpaw and Shatteredpaw fell in love. They promised each other when they grew older, they would become mates. They soon became Northwind and Shatteredice, and Shatteredice had two litters of kits. Finally she changed her name to Shatteredlight.
