I have this book. Most of the patterns are ones that I liked, therefore, I bought it.   It is rare that I find a pattern book in which I like almost all of the patterns.  The patterns are written well, I was able to follow them.  The pictures capture the details of  the pattern very nicely.  Colors are vividly captured, as well.

Book very appealing. Scarf photos are colorfully presented. Looking forward to making a few as soon as present projects are completed. Further comments to follow. Hopefully there won't be any pattern errors.

I now know why I prefer crochet over knitting. I LOVE the look of knitted scarves but I don't have the ability to decipher the instructions of a knitted pattern. I can read the abbreviations and glossary section or the definition of the stitch pattern in the pattern itself. The combination of stitches is just a bit much for my mind to get around. And working from a chart has never been something I have been able to do, even in a crochet pattern. The front and back covers have a "built-in" bookmark for making the pattern you are working. With 25 beautiful patterns, there will be one for every person for which you need to create a scarf. There are brightly colored photos of the item and even a close-up or two so you can see the details. The instructions are clearly written if you read "knit"! The beginning of the book even has a chart that provides information about yarn weights and the recommended needles to use with each type of yarn. As an accomplished knitter, this would be a wonderful book for you to create lovely scarves as presents.

After seeing the cover of Sheryl's latest knitting book, I knew I would not be disappointed. The photography is gorgeous and the descriptions that go along with each of the scarves are beautifully written. The patterns are very easy to follow, even for a novice knitter. I chose the Sea Cucumbers pattern as my first project and have been delighted with the results. I can't wait to start another one. Thanks Sheryl for another wonderful knitting book.

This book is very pleasing to the eye - the photos are done well. The well written introduction to the book makes you want to just dive right into a pattern. Here in WI it is scarf and shawl weather almost all year round so i'm excited to create one of these beautiful items for myself as well as for gifts for the holiday season. The patterns have the basics with a few intermediate skills introduced which make even a novice knitter ready to take the plunge. The patterns can also be adjusted to create a shawl or scarf. Thank you for another great addition to my Sheryl Thies collection of patterns.

Scarves are in! and this book is inspiring me to create unusual and versatile patterns to wear for warmth or style. Since I live near the beach, I was so excited to match colors and yarns with native sea designs and little creatures. Each pattern is so well related to the description. I can't wait to try more of them. This is truly a fun knitting book that will entertain the knitter and the recipient of the scraves.

As a man who knits I found this book completely amazing and relevent. There are several interesting patterns in a variety of styles utilizing an array of differing yarns. All patterns are concise and easily followed. I am itching to try several of these patterns that in my opinion range from beginner to slightly intermediate in their skill level and have the notion that several of those on my Christmas list will be the lucky recipient of one 'or more' of Sheryl Thies' designs. Thanks, Sheryl, for yet another wonderfully written, beautifully photographed book that will truly transport me this winter to a place where the 'ocean breezes' will reign supreme!
