In the hidden basement lab of a military research facility in Needles, California, Eli Johnson jerks to consciousness. He is strapped to a stretcher and remembers nothing until he hears a voice he knows only as “The Tormentor.” That’s when it all comes back: he has been a prisoner in this lab for eight years. And he’s about to die.

Abilene Miller, a newly minted doctor desperate to prove herself, snaps up the opportunity to work at a military hospital, but the reality of Needles proves to be vastly different from the pitch of the two recruiters. She spends her days running labs and wishing for things to be different.

When Abilene stumbles across Eli’s body in a supply close, she definitely gets different. She’s shocked when the dead man jerks back to life in her arms and infuriated when he kidnaps her. He thinks she’s part of a conspiracy; she thinks he’s insane.

Only together can they find out the truth—and brave the risks they run in loving each other.

About 171 nook pages. 100 of which is just sex with no story. Just ongoing sex. This book had so much potential but fell very short if you are looking for a good story with some heat. If you are looking for erotica, this book is for you. Its basically just written porn. The actual plot took about 50 pages of redundant language. Only purchase if you are looking to read about sex and dont want a story. If thats the case, read pages 20-128 then go find a book worth reading.

I have just finished reading Of Eternal Life by Micah Persell. Although, I do not read many paranormal romances, I found this one very refreshing and well written, without dragons or wild beasts. I loved Ms. Persell's characters Elie, a soldier that became immortal and Abilene, the woman doctor he kidnapped You will enjoy the wonderful adventure of Elie and Abilene who will learn to trust each other while an intense attraction sparks between them. I liked this phrase: she was going through withdrawal....she was addicted to him. Ms. Persell is a very descriptive writer specially with her inflamed seduction-love scenes. When you start this book, you won't be able to stop, because it is so intense! I had so much fun reading it. I will definitely be reading more books by this author. If you like a paranormal romance, then this book is for you.

An Intense and Thrilling Read! I’m a big paranormal fan and this book was a wonderful departure from the “creatures of the night” offerings! The hook at the beginning of the story left me wide-eyed in shock and putting everything else aside to read this fast-paced story! OF ETERNAL LIFE grabbed me from the first chapter and never let go until the end. It is a quick read, and I wished it had been longer. You will grow to love smart and strong doctor Abilene and ex-military tough guy Eli and want to know more about them. Yet, the story ended on a heartfelt and satisfying note and, of course, they get the bad guy in the end! OF ETERNAL LIFE is a thrilling, suspenseful read full of non-stop action, unexpected twists, with an original premise and sizzling sex. Run, don’t walk to get your copy now.

Paranormal is not normally a genre I'm comfortable in. I just can't relate to all those other-worldy creatures. So, it was a pleasant surprise to read Micah Persell's book. Of Eternal Life contains scorching hot sex scenes (something I can relate to), non-stop action, and a premise that's unusual and shows that Persell's mind is a little twisted--but in a good way. Micah has crafted her book so you can't put it down at the end of a chapter. You must keep reading to see what's coming next. Of Eternal Life is a great book, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Micah Persell has written a book that is pacy, hot and highly original in it's premise. The romance between Abilene, a new doctor at a research facility and Eli, the tortured hero who cannot die in Of Eternal Life is a sizzling read, backed up with strong characterization and a sense of place as well as a chilling look at what man is prepared to do to gain immortality. Looking forward to reading more of Micah Persell's books. Disclaimer: "I received this book in exchange for an honest review."

After reading Micah Persell’s OF ETERNAL LIFE, I will forever associate her name with Passion. From the minute Dr. Abilene Miller meets her secret soldier patient Eli Johnson, their intense attraction for each other keeps you turning pages deep into the night. A fast pace, passionate love and intense characters make this a good beach read – just make sure you have something to cool you down when you close the book. Through immortality and secret government experiments, Persell takes you on a wild ride and has you routing for Abi and Eli’s happiness up to the very end. Definitely worth the ride!

Micah Persell had me from page one when I started reading Of Eternal Life. The pace is fast but the story is what keeps you reading. I loved the interaction between the heroine and hero, especially when she takes control of her own needs. Strong characters and great plot, including the modern twist.

In Of Eternal Life Micah Persell introduces her hero by exploring the very practical downside of not being able to stay dead. The description of Eli’s imprisonment and torture is deliciously gruesome with a sadistic edge that rivals some of the best horror stories and thrillers. Despite opening in a very modern government facility, Eli’s immortality is steeped in some of our oldest mythology giving their relationship an element of fate. Eli and Abilene’s passionate attraction is instant and overwhelming. Getting their emotions to agree with their bodies makes for some interesting twists and turns. Be sure to check out this new twist on the immortality theme!

The minute Abilene Miller wished her life were more exciting, I sensed she was in for a surprise. But nothing could have prepared me for what came next. Solider Eli Johnson has been imprisoned in a medical facility undergoing cruel and painful tests for the past eight years, wishing for death. Problem is, Eli can’t die. So when Abilene finds him poisoned in a supply closet her life is about to be changed forever. And she has to decide, is this mysterious man completely insane or someone in desperate need of her help? This dark, graphic premise grabbed me from the beginning and surprised me in the best possible ways. Of Eternal Life is a fast, sexy and thrilling ride that will leave you breathless.

Of Eternal Life explores ancient themes of immortality, greed, and true love and gives them a modern, sexy twist in the form of Eli, a gorgeous,well-intentioned soldier; Major Taylor, a rogue military leader; and Abilene, aclever, sassy heroine. The chemistry between Eli and Abilene is palpable from the moment they lay eyes on each other and the action begins. Side note: I readthis in one sitting, during vacation. I was in the mood for a hot read and this one was STEAMY from start to finish!

From the moment the hero, Eli Johnson, opens his eyes in the new paranormal romance; Of Eternal Life by Micah Persell, the action never stops. The interaction between Eli and Abilene, the young doctor he kidnaps, is fun and full of sexual tension. These are people who are equals and the feelings that grow between them on their journey are captivating. From the opening page Of Eternal Life grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Larger than life hero Eli doesn't want to die but he also knows he has no choice. Abilene Miller doesn't hate her job, but she doesn't like it, either. Eli and Abilene are soon on the run from the people who would kill him – again – and fighting their attraction for one another at the same time. Filled with taut action and primal suspense, Of Eternal Life will leave you gasping for breath!
