    dooooood this is siiick

    Rudy Sarzo is a base player that has been in many bands, such as DIO, Blue Öyster Cult, and Whitsnake. He is best known for being in Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne. His book describes his time with the Ozzy Osbourne band (Ozzy, Tommy Aldridge, and Randy Rhoads) during the Blizzard of Ozz world tour. He explains in great detail his time with the band, such as an incident at a Chinese restaurant, peeing in a hotel ice cooler, and the devastating plane crash in which Randy Rhoads was killed. The beginning of the book gives a couple chapters about his time with Quiet Riot (Kevin DuBrow, Frankie Banali, and Randy Rhoads).
    I really loved this book. I thought it was hilarious and interesting. I liked everything about this book. I'm a big fan of Rudy and all the bands he's been with. I recommend this book to any fan of Ozzy, Quiets Riot, DIO, and so on. I liked how this book gave me a good idea on how life with these bands went on. I also recommend it to anybody who enjoys hilarious antics.

    Well worth the read. Keeps you wanting more.

    If it wasn't for That Metal Show - guest Rudy Sarzo, promoting his book. I would have never known he had written this book. Uncertain what to expect before I started reading "Off the rails". But once I started I could not put it down. As I was reading the book I kept imagining as a fan with concert tickets in hand to see Ozzy and how easily is was for them to cancel shows. I would have been upset and always wondered why they cancelled. But reading this book would have told you why years later.

    Some of the photos are the same ones that have been circling around for years. It was nice to see some new ones and I know you cannot please everyone.

    I want to thank you Rudy Sarzo for this book. I could not put your book down until it was finshed and you left me wanting more to read.

    Must Read For Music Lovers

    I usually avoid books like this because the author invariably toots his/her own horn while stabbing other in the back. Not so here. The facts are presented and I was left to make up my own mind about each of the characters in the book.
    The book is a timeline of tour information, reviews, and photos. It is a realistic picture of what the road what like with Ozzy, Randy, Sharon, & company. To his credit, Sarzo left out sordid details. What I learned about Randy Rhoads just made me appreciate his great talent even more. What I learned about Sharon Osbourne just reinforced my opinion of her. What a piece of work!!! Ozzy is just the drunken puppet throughout it all. Big surprise huh.
    Rudy Sarzo did a great job on this book and he deserves a metal for putting up with the Osbournes and their BS.

    Randy would be pleased

    From one of the most successful bass players of the 80's comes a story about one of the most influential, inspiring guitarists of all time, Randy Rhoads. Off the Rails begins with the life of Rudy Sarzo (the author) prior to meeting Randy, when he was sleeping on the floor of his friend's apartment. The Story quickly evolves and gives vivid details of all the expieriences that they encountered while touring with Ozzy Osboure. The entire book is a refreshing change of pace from the usual formula of a rock biography because Rudy became a very close friend of Randy's. It has a lot of information about Randy's classical music influences and how he wrote a few songs. The book is almost a double biography because it tells a lot of stories of both Randy's and Rudy's. So many fans who were devastated by Randy's tragic death felt this book to be necessary and I think it does justice to the huge impression that Randy made on music. The tales in this book are so unbelievable, but that just enhances my opinion that truth can be better and more interesting than fiction. I would give this book four stars out of five because I thought, though there are books that are better, it was great and definitely worth the time. This book redefines rock n' roll and certainly deserves to be read by anyone who was a fan of Randy's. It truly is a great way to pay homage to one of the most talented guitarist to walk the face of the earth. This is a fantastic book.
