Great if you like to avoid crowds, rabbles and the usual tourist traps. The book focuses on different places and events all around the world best known by countries natives. The book is an excellent source of ideas. It has been a wonderful inspiration in my life and I highly recommended.
We enjoy visiting foreign places but are put off by the tourist parts of those places. This books gives us great ideas of places to hit when planning our next adventure. I really like the organization (i.e. the OTHER leaning towers). Although I used to hate writing in books, I'm sure this will be like 1000 Places to See Before You Die - with dates marked on those places I was fortunate enough to make it to. Great for those who love to be a traveler not a tourist (thank you, Mr. Bourdain).
This book presents, in beautiful color, alternative sites to visit around the world instead of the usual, sometimes over-visited. For each tried and true location, they will offer an lesser known but equally exciting sight.
