Known for their hard-driving sound, Third Day have taken a creative left turn on Offerings, an uplifting collection of praise and worship tunes. Part greatest hits collection, part live album, Offerings, shows us a side of the Georgia-based band that's only been glimpsed in the past. Indeed, Third Day has dabbled in the worship genre over the years, recording Michael W. Both songs appear here as live recordings, full of the energy that's become a hallmark of the band's concerts. Six new worship songs were recorded for Offerings as well, of which a standout is a cover of Bob Dylan's "Saved." Third Day's trademark rock sound remains intact throughout this collection but Offerings also shows a feel for nuance that some of the band's previous efforts have lacked. And lead singer Mac Powell has never sounded stronger, making Offerings a truly praise-worthy release.
All Music Guide
Third Day quickly draws a distinction between entertaining and leading worship on Offerings. "King of Kings" starts the release with a fervent longing to know God. "Who is this King of glory with strength and majesty, and wisdom beyond measure, the gracious King of kings." Mac Powell raises the tune to a fervent pitch as the members from Atlanta's Cobb County Mass Choir join in to help the cut reach its pinnacle. "Agnus Dei/Worthy" was written by Michael W. Smith and has been a focal point at Third Day concerts over the past few years. It's easy to see why; the lyrics are inspiring, the energy level high. After distorted guitars and hard hitting drums the song becomes an acoustic sing along as thousands join the band in praise. "Your Everywhere" was written during the Conspiracy No. 5 sessions but the cut never made the release. The tune is a poignant ballad that displays the bands heartfelt passion. Both "Thief" and "Consuming Fire" have been live Third Day staples since the bands inception. "Thief" tells the account of the criminals crucified with Christ. This piano driven melody is emotionally potent. Equally engaging is "Consuming Fire," which was responsible for launching the band in 1996. You can feel the electricity as Tai Anderson's bass riffs reverberate throughout the arena. Closing Offerings is arguably the most requested Third Day song. "Love Song," and is an acoustic gem. The tune reveals the fragile nuances that make Third Day much more than entertainers, and the song is sung by the band's faithful word for word. ~ Steven Losey

    The Best Worship CD

This is by far my favorite worship album. Third Day's songs are absolutely terrific. It's hard not to cry when you hear songs like "Thief" and "Love Song" It's great to listen to in the car after work. It really relaxes you and makes your heart long to worship God and write your own worship songs. Definitley a Must-Have

    Yeah Third Day Go Off

This is the best that's come from Third Day which is quite a statement. Powerful worship which really touches the soul, with just enough old and new stuff to appeal to everyone. 5 Stars from the first listen, and it doesn't wear off after 6 months either, it's still fantastic! Their live work at Sonfest in Melbourne, Aust, was great, they are awesome in person.

    Incredible Worship

This is one of the most dynamic worhip bands in Christian music! Not only do they offer an incredible worship album, they also offer great talent and a style of music that makes you want more. Also, I feel that Third Day has a very genuine heart for what they do, and for who they do it for -- Jesus.

    Third Day is Awesome!

This group touches my spirit every time I listen. The lyrics and sound blend together to create a truely worshipful experience. Every song on the album is great and well worth the purchase.
