Montreal Gazette - Dave Stubbs
This hockey historian's bible includes photos, stats and bios of every player in the hockey shrine. Perhaps the definitive reference to date.
Waterloo Region Record
A book that will be hard to resist for anyone interested in the position between the posts. It has great photos, profiles of the 33 goalies in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and an essay by ex-NHLer Brian Hayward on the question of whether goalies are crazy.
A wonderful pocket-sized guide, perfect to have close by while watching the game. Two full pages are devoted to every NHL player in the Hockey Hall of Fame, in alphabetical order from Sid Abel to Steve Yzerman.
Good Times
The Stanley Cup is the goal in hockey--just ask the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans, who are still grinning about their win this year after a 49-year drought. And a few of these same Blackhawks might just end up someday being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Since its inception in 1945, 244 players have received that honour, and this companion book presents each inductee on a two-page spread featuring stats, facts, quotes, and thoughts on what it means to be in the Hall. With more than 400 photos and illustrations, this book is a must for any hockey fan.
Hockey Book - Joe Pelletier
This book is a whopper at 544 pages. Included are profiles on every inductee and more than 400 photos! And it's cover price is just $19.95 which means you should be able to get this book under $15 most places.... After seeing these beautiful pages, you'll definitely be looking to add this to your collection.

This guide is a great introduction to hockey's greatest players and hockey fans will be delighted with all the information provided, including some of the anecdotes in the biographical information, such as the fact that Tim Horton was "nicknamed" 'Mister Magoo' because of his poor eyesight and 'Superman' because of his strength (p. 239) or that Stan Mikita was "one of only four players (with Alex Delvecchio, Steve Yzerman, and Mike Modano) to play at least 20 seasons with only one organization". Hockey fans and hockey trivia buffs of all ages will enjoy this publication.
Library Journal
Hockey fans throughout North America will enjoy this beautiful and richly illustrated record of the lives and careers of the nearly 400 players, builders, and on-ice officials whose signal contributions to hockey, and not merely the National Hockey League, have led to their enshrinement in the Hall of Fame located in Toronto. Beginning with Sid Abel and concluding with Steve Yzerman, the interested reader is treated to a brief account of the exploits of these fascinating athletes, enhanced here by the inclusion of photos depicting long-ago greats in their varied equipment and arenas. Notable as well are the vignettes explaining interesting trivia—such as "Who was born in Australia or Taiwan?"—and answers to trick questions such as which cities possess a small-size Stanley Cup trophy. The compilation of information on the female and European Hall of Famers is also noteworthy. VERDICT This is a perfect addition to the reference and sporting sections of school and public libraries; for all hockey fans, young and old.—Gilles Renaud, Cornwall, Ont.
