Overview

Cassie Strange is the only normal person in her family. Her dad is a TV celebrity who debunks the paranormal in his weekly cable show I Don't Believe It! Her mom is a naturalist who once wore a gown of grass to get her point across. Cassie's genius brother is an aspiring actor who's always in costume. And Amber, Cassie's kid sister, has a secret way of talking to animals.

When her family goes on a camping trip, Cassie finally feels they are doing something "normal" - that is, until she finds out that the vacation is really an excuse for her dad to investigate UFO sightings in the area.

After their first night in the tent, Amber is not acting at all like herself. Cassie realizes that something is up, and she soon discovers that her "sister" is an alien imposter named Vee. Of course, her father doesn't believe her. How can Cassie alone rescue Amber before the aliens use her sister for show-and-tell?

While on a camping trip, Cassie Strange has a hard time convincing her skeptical parents that her sister Amber has been abducted by aliens, one of whom is doing a very good job of impersonating Amber.

    Fun new series!

The Strange family is going camping and Cassie, for one, couldn't be happier! What could be more normal than that, right? Little does she know that her dad, a critic who exposes paranormal happenings for the nonsense that they are, set up the camping trip as a cover to meet a guy who claims to have information about a UFO. But then Cassie's little sister Amber is kidnapped by aliens and no one will believe Cassie! Before Cassie can rescue Amber she must deal with the alien imposter while evading a cranky man trying to make money from what he thinks he knows about UFO's. And finally, she must outsmart the adults in a race against time. This amusing book is well-written and is the first book in a fun new series. I give it 5 stars! What else could we expect from the author of the wonderful Regeneration series?

    Awesome read.

Cassie Strange believes herself to be the only normal person in her entire family. Her dad is a TV celebrity whose show dares people to show the public paranormal activities and then he proves it all to be lies. Her mom communes with nature way too much. She once wore a grass dress, complete with worms. Her brother is a genius and determined to be an actor someday. So each week he lives out a different character's personality. And her little sister, Amber, has a secret way of talking to animals. Cassie has no talents and is only average in school. She wishes her whole family was just normal! ............................ When her family sets out for a camping trip Cassie believes her wish is granted at least temporarily. She should have known her dad was doing something for his show. All was going smoothly, until an alien kidnaps Amber and replaces her with an imposter! Of course, no one believes Cassie. What now? ............................ ***** An excellent book that fans of R.L. Stine will adore! This looks to be a promising start to a new series involving the Strange family and I, for one, can hardly wait for the next release. In my opinion, anyone age ten to adult will enjoy this intriguing story. Recommended! *****
