Quick facts reinforce that both women and men take on these roles and emphasize practical safety guidelines where applicable. Both men and women of many racial and ethnic identities are shown actively engaging in the different jobs presented in this series that's ideal for early to middle grade readers. Unfamiliar concepts are bolded and defined in the glossary included in each volume. VERDICT These important community roles are given the attention they deserve in this series.
