All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Using the textured soundscapes of The Bends as a launching pad, Radiohead delivered another startlingly accomplished set of modern guitar rock with OK Computer. The anthemic guitar heroics present on Pablo Honey and even The Bends are nowhere to be heard here. Radiohead have stripped away many of the obvious elements of guitar rock, creating music that is subtle and textured yet still has the feeling of rock & roll. Even at its most adventurous -- such as the complex, multi-segmented "Paranoid Android" -- the band is tight, melodic, and muscular, and Thom Yorke's voice effortlessly shifts from a sweet falsetto to vicious snarls. It's a thoroughly astonishing demonstration of musical virtuosity and becomes even more impressive with repeated listens, which reveal subtleties like electronica rhythms, eerie keyboards, odd time signatures, and complex syncopations. Yet all of this would simply be showmanship if the songs weren't strong in themselves, and OK Computer is filled with moody masterpieces, from the shimmering "Subterranean Homesick Alien" and the sighing "Karma Police" to the gothic crawl of "Exit Music For a Film." OK Computer is the album that establishes Radiohead as one of the most inventive and rewarding guitar rock bands of the '90s.

listen often, and sometimes with headphones

This album is sublime. Listen with headphones, and melt with the music. My favorite tracks are "Subterranean Homesick Alien," "Let Down," and "The Tourist." Whenever I listen to Radiohead, especially this CD, my creative energy bank gets recharged.

    Radiohead at their Finest!

Radiohead was in their absolute best when they released "OK Computer" in 1997. The album was #1 all over the world and Thom Yorke and company were hailed by many all across the globe as the greatest rock band of all time. Whether you agree with this title or not, it's hard not to agree with the fact that OK Computer is one of the best albums that was ever produced. There isn't a moment of boredom in the entire album. Some of the better tracks include (but aren't limited to) "Paranoid Android," "Karma Police," "Electioneering," and "Climbing Up The Walls," though I'm sure anyone who has written a review of this album will say the entire things is a masterpiece. I have no hesitation whatsoever in dealing OK Computer a 5-Star rating.

    Best Album Ever

Hands down the best album ever made. At first it might seem pretty boring, tracks like "Paranoid Android" and "The Tourist" arn't very acessible, but neither is this whole album. Its after you have listened to OK Computer 5+ times you start to realize it's insane amount of layers, you won't find anything out there that is more brilliant than this, I love this album so much, and I would definatly recomend it...But give it time, it takes quite a while to realize the magnificence this album contains Best Songs In Order 1. Airbag 2. Paranoid Android 3. Electroneering

perhaps the most powerful album of all time..

this album isnt my favorite, but lays the hugest impact any other album ever has. its strange...it seems to the normal person a cliche kitschy album. but if you look closer, you realize how powerful it is and how it changed the way people think. its a true gem.

    OK Computer

This is my favorite Radiohead album. The songs are amazing. My favorite tracks are Paranoid Android, Karma Police and Let Down. If you like intelligent rock with a slight twist, then go out and buy this album.

    Utterly enthralling.

I first picked up OK Computer nearly two years ago, and it has been amazing me ever since. At first, I thought that it was an incoherent mass of sound, but as I listened to it again and again, its sprawling beauty came into focus. Now, with every listening, I find another layer of meaning in the music and another nuance in Thom Yorke's mercurial voice. Out of all of the albums I own, this is the one that I never tire of. It was - is - a life-changing and gorgeous album.

    the essential radiohead!!!

this is on of the best rock albums ever; it was so ground-breaking. radiohead invented this new alternative-rock sound which is the best and most creative. the guitar solo in "parinoid android" is amazing. if you are looking into getting into radiohead, you must own this cd. it has the hard-rock core of "pablo honey," and "the bends" but it has the cool computer-rock of "kid a" and "amneisiac"... genious. this is a great buy, go get it.

    OK I get it already

Extraordionarly boring. Its like the same thing over and over. The message is lame and outdated since the new millineum. I would recomend getting Nas God's son instead

    best. album. ever.

strong enough melodies to engage the listener on the first listen, complex and subtle enough to hear new things on the thousandth listen. that, in a nutshell, is ok computer. cerebral, epic, moving. some highlights - "paranoid android's" angular guitar leads, "exit music's" nihilistic theme, "let down" simultaneously crushing and uplifting you, "the tourist's" space and atmosphere. buy this record. right now.

OK?..this is the BEST Computer U Can Buy...

what can you say that hasn't already been said? this album is the apex of space rock, if there is such a thing...the gravity of the lyrics and the fluidity of the sound make me feel as if I'm Thom Yorke, and I want to get the heck off of earth and cruise around in space....this album will forever remain on my top ten list and even my top five of ALL TIME...give it 3 listens and I guarantee that you'll be HOOKED....the quality is unique and I treasure this album like few others...

    Add to your Essential list

This album is a must own for any budding rock musician. Radiohead alters the sounds of their instruments and vocals until it just sounds like pure emotion. If that isn't genius, I don't know what is. Hurray for Radiohead!!!

If you only could have one CD,This would be the one to own!

Radiohead is the kind of band that you don't grow out of. Fads come and go but because Radiohead makes really terrific music they will never be in that category. This album is very melodic and emotional, it takes you places that you don't often think about. It's easy to listen to, at any age in any mood.

    an incredible album

This is probably one of the greatest albums ever; it is certainly Radiohead's best, at any rate. The unconventional guitar rock combined with Thom Yorke's emotional voice and lyrics combine to make this an awesome listen.

One of the greatest albums ever

ok, this album is absolutely ridiculous. it should be outlawed for being too good. definitely one of the best rock albums ever recorded, its star will continue to rise as the years pass. from the instant i first got my hands on it, i was hooked. this album is absolutely essential to any music fan, period. it's haunting, original, artsy without being gaudy, and gut-wrenchingly visceral and bleak. well-crafted, well-produced, excellent vocals-- just pure genius, frankly...

    What an awsome album

This is probably my most favorite Radiohead album ever. The songs are really interesting and diffrent from all the other rock music out there. Thom Yorke's voice is just amazing, and Radiohead's three guitar attack shines. All in all, an excellent album.

    The Best Album Ever!

For those of you who have not listened to any Radiohead songs...with this album you will know how beatiful their music is. Every song is so unique and with Thom's voice, the songs give out a variety of emotions! Especially the songs...No Surprises, and Let Down.
