The volume was the first of over seventy books for Mr. Burgess. His characters - Peter Rabbit, Reddy Fox, Sammy Jay, Happy Jack Squirrel, Johnny Chuck, Jimmy Skunk, and more - are well known to Burgess fans around the world.
