Overview

If you are a guitar player who has been asked for the first time to accompany an old time fiddler group playing a typical set of old timey tunes, you might find yourself totally confused. The group might start off with a name of some tune you’ve never heard of and then start furiously sawing away at their fiddles. After maybe three times through the tune, just when you are beginning to figure out the chord structure, someone lifts his foot and they are on to the next tune.

And it goes on like that for a solid hour and you are feeling you are in foreign territory. If you stick it out for a few more weeks, you can chord with the more typical tunes such as “Golden Slippers” or “Fisher’s Hornpipe,” but you get completely lost when someone shouts “Shove that Pigs Foot a Little Further into the Fire” and everyone but you knows this one.

This book of guitar chords for typical old time tunes just might be the answer for you!
