Overview

Unforgettable and wildly original, Oliver Caine's in Trouble Again by Australian writer William Kondylis is a real page-turner that teaches young readers to follow their dreams-and where to look for trouble. For fans of The Spiderwick Chronicles and The Dragon Rider, this new world voyage offers an imaginative madcap adventure in which characters defy what's expected of them in order to stay alive. It's hard to believe twelve-year-old thrill-seeking Oliver Caine ever said his life was boring. What he wouldn't give for a humdrum day! And while Oliver has always been a boy to find trouble, it isn't until he is transported to a new world with his nagging, condescending half-sister Sarah and his best friend Peter, a really timid foodie, that big trouble gets an upper hand. It comes in the form of an ancient text, a tome that Oliver, Sarah, and Peter must understand before they can survive it. As they dodge aggressive seven-foot lizards, a fierce two-headed Cyclops, and a sorcerer with a strong resemblance to their science teacher, they'll be guided by the spirit-guarded Pool of Prophecy and a gentle wizard. But it's the stuff they find in themselves that will make the difference.

    I Also Recommend:

    An amazing read.

Whilst in the midst of searching for a good read, a page turner, a book that would want me to just stay up all night, I came across Oliver Caine's In Trouble Again. This book brought to life the characters, setting, and lifestyle of both worlds. It certainly did not disappoint. Highly recommended!

    Very Cool

Sarah, you go girl! Oliver and Peter are awesome and funny too. The characters really make you feel like you're part of the adventure. The new world they discover is great and the story keeps you wanting more.

    Awesome Book!!!

This book has an excellent storyline with pretty cool twists. I felt as though I was right along side the characters as they were being chased and attacked by two-headed Cyclops and cliffs that come to life. The only thing that disappoints me is that I have to wait for the sequel. But I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy.

Forget the rest this is the best!

This book was great, my mum bought it for me for my birthday, it was the best book I have read in a long time. I loved the story and the characters. I really hope there is a second book soon.

    Great Fantasy

From the moment I read the first sentence I knew this was going to be a book I'd enjoy. You can't help but to get drawn into the story and the character's lives. The kids have got great chemistry together and the fantasy world and creatures are very imaginative. The author certainly knows how to tell an awesome story and keep you on the edge of your seat or sofa :)

Highly Recommended - check it out!!

The heading says it all. To give you a brief run down, three teenagers find this magical book that takes them to this other world. To get back they must find a special key that belongs to the book. They get into all sorts of trouble trying to get home, which was fun to read. There's lots of action and conflict and there's a sorcerer that's also after the book and is hiding some nasty secrets about his past. The author provides a good dose of fantasy, magic and adventure. Oliver and his friend Peter are cool and funny. His sister Sarah is like many older sisters- bossy but sweet! All three work well together and the ending is great. Enjoy!

REVIEWED BY THE PEN & MUSE!

Oliver is a boy looking for adventure. His overweight friend Peter is roped into staying the night at a scary derelict house that is slated for demolition. Oliver's Sister Sarah crashes the party and joins them at the last minute. After some difficulty the three enter the house and discover a old book which has been cleverly hidden. When the book is opened reality is torn asunder and the trio are plunged into an alternative dimension. This is a novel that appeals to children and those who don't want to grow up. There are interesting characters that we grow to know well through the novel. The trio meet a number of exciting people and have adventures that they never would have imagined. At times the dialogue may be frustrating for an older reader but I imagine that the audience that it is intended for would be charmed. A fast paced tale for children that offers a glimpse into the past for those who are now merely children at heart.
