Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
With Valentine's Day being just a few days away, Olivia, the lovable porcine character, decides to make her own special Valentine's Day cards for everyone. She plans and personalizes each card for the recipients on her list. For example, Olivia drew soccer balls on Ian's Valentine because he likes to play soccer. Meanwhile, Olivia is distraught because she feels that she is missing someone on her list. She continuously checks her list but cannot come up with the missing name. Before the end of Valentine's Day, Olivia discovers who she forgot and figures out how to solve her Valentine dilemma before the day is done (she gets a little help from her mother). This story is based on the television series, "Olivia." Ian Falconer is the creator of the original stories of Olivia. Children who enjoy this adventure may also want to look for other books about Olivia written by Falconer or stories based on the television series. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung
