This has quickly become my favorite Paleo Cookbook!! The first three recipes had me drooling!!

That's Paleo open with a brief bio about Juli Bauer and her blog. Then it goes on to talk about the cookbook itself and the Paleo diet and what Ms. Bauer thinks about it. It tells what is and isn't permissible on the diet. Finally the opening also list what you need equipment and utensils you need to have in your kitchen and what food items you need to keep on hand in your stock pile of essential foods. Now on to the good stuff, the recipes. I tried the Jamabalaya and my family loved it. I loved it too after I removed the cauliflower, I do not like it cooked, but I adored the chicken in it. I made the Bangers and Mash and liked it much better than mine. Then behold there was my favorite meal for any time of the day, BREAKFAST and guess what? Ms Bauer has recipes for pancakes and waffles. Hello Blueberry Pancakes with Blueberry Maple Compote and because I could not resist lunch was the Caramelized Plantain Pancakes with a side of Caramelized Onion Frittata. As if that does not draw you let me tell you there are snack recipes and dessert recipes. Your meal can be complete. My family as a whole loves meat so they devoured the dishes I made. I was surprised at how tasty they were. With Ms. Bauer's recipes written to make it easy for even the novice cook feel comfortable in the kitchen while the experienced cook will enjoy trying out the recipes for their uniqueness and delicious aromas that will call the family to the dinner table on the double. I had to look for an understandable explanation of what the Paleo diet is, but found Ms. Bauer's the best around. Juli Bauer has put a humorous touch on her writing for this cookbook. You can almost see little cavemen and women running around strangling their meat with their thighs or hitting it on the head with that giant club. I do not know if I could embrace the Paleo diet for myself as I have a long standing affair with rice, oatmeal, wheat bread, but especially I do not see myself giving up my peanut butter. Not to mention I am not a big meat eater. Being referred to as a picky eater is not uncommon due to the fact that I have a very limited list of foods I am willing to eat. I prefer most of my vegetables raw and many of those I will not eat when cooked. On the other hand I found some new ways to prepare my meats and they were much more appealing. I have never been one to go o follow with the same old standbys and love to experiment in the kitchen. With OMG That's Paleo, Juli has shown me some very easy recipes to infuse my cooking with some new flavors and flavor combinations. Whether you live the Paleo diet or just looking at it for the first time, the OMG! That's Paleo is a cookbook is a perfect starting place for that section of your cookbooks. Pick up your copy today!

If there’s anything I know, it’s a Paleo cookbook. I like reading cookbooks like any book at first, cover to cover. I tag the pages and dream about what I want to make, then I go back with another post-it flag and tag what I can realistically make based on grocery prices. Juli’s first foray into the paleo cookbook world is charming. Her energy is high and the laughs are abundant. If you’re a regular follower of her website, most of these recipes may not seem that new, which is a bummer. Having said that, there are still tasty recipes to try. I actually stopped writing this review midway, made her waffles, then continued. Compared to other paleo cookbooks, I wish there were more photos and I wish the existing photos were of a higher quality. Juli acknowledges this in her intro and says she isn’t a photographer, maybe not even a cook, so I definitely don’t fault the girl! I can’t wait until her new cookbook comes out, which she is co-writing with another Paleo blog celebrity, Civilized Caveman, George Bryant. I have a feeling that cookbook will blow us all away. The best quote of the cookbook has to be: “The dimples on my ass increase when the jar of almond butter disappears. It’s just plain fact.”
