From expected artery-cloggers like deep-fried candy bars and corn dogs to the unexpected, like deep-fried mac 'n' cheese, cheesecake slices, and most impressive of all-spaghetti and meatballs, Armendiaz keeps the tone light and playful as he guides readers through the usually simple process of creating skewered delicacies. Buoyed by impressive photos, he makes the case for Cake Pops as well as inventive, tasty fare like Chicken and Waffles, in which seasoned, boneless chicken tenders are dipped in waffle batter, then fried, and a ground shrimp pattie skewered with a sugarcane stick and grilled.     Fun on a stick!

    Everyone knows that if you put anything on a stick it's just so much more fun to eat! On a Stick! is filled with eighty fun finger-food ideas. In On a Stick!, the author first goes over the different types of sticks and skewers you can use and then presents different possibilities for dips, to make your food on a stick extra tasty!

    Foods that come on a stick are convenient and easier to eat in many ways, since they provide their own silverware (handle?). The stick also provides a way to keep your hands clean while eating sticky, gooey treats like caramel apples or popcorn balls. Plus, there will be easier clean up for the hosts! On a Stick! has a wonderful range of ideas from the healthy to the decadent, including many regional foods, like Fried Tofu Triangles or Tornado Potatoes from the County Fair.

    There is a section for Savory Foods on a Stick and another for Sweet Foods on a Stick. In the former, there are recipes for delicious, savory appetizers, like olives stuffed with nuts and cheese and skewered on cocktail picks, as well as many main dish recommendations. How about deep-fried ravioli or vegetable & shrimp tempura on a stick? Yes, please! I think the recipe that wins as the most innovative in the book was the Spaghetti and Meatballs on a stick -- very fun!

    Cookies, candy bars, cinnamon rolls, s'mores and chocolate dipped cheesecake are a few of the scrumptious delights you'll find in the Sweets on a Stick area. I love the bright and colorful Fruit Salad on a Stick, sprinkled with coconut and paired with a Sweet and Fluffy dipping sauce, while my daughter's favorite was the simple-yet-stunning Strawberry Shortcake. If you want a cookbook with tons of ideas for "party-perfect" food, On a Stick! is the way to go!

    Highly Recommended- Check it Out!

    This book is So Fun! I love a cookbook that has a picture for EVERY RECIPE! The photographs are beautiful! I can't wait to give some of these recipes a try- Chicken and Waffles on a stick---Margarita Jello shots on a stick!! --that just sounds like a party!
