Jim Knapp's big band plays 11 of his arrangements and seven of his originals on On Going Home. The music is quite complex, and although it always swings in its own fashion, the themes are not too memorable. Even the two standards "U.M.M.G." and "Donna Lee" are given more modern harmonies and chord structures than usual.
