Overview

With his shattered elbow, a reminder of the war in Iraq, Bo Gregory has enough on his hands without getting involved in someone else's problems. He doesn't need a battered wife and her kid living over the bar, especially when he and his brother are trying to renovate the building.

Callie Caldwell left her abusive husband, the big, bad sheriff of Caledonia County, Texas, and filed for divorce, but the sheriff has stolen her ranch and tricked a judge into giving him custody of her son. Broke and scared, she desperately needs Bo's help. Bo wants to know why the sheriff wants Callie's ranch so much he'd force her to stay in a loveless marriage. Unable to fight his growing love for Callie and her little boy, Bo searches for answers.

This book grabbed me from the first page. As an ornery, wounded soldier of war, Bo is an injured hero, but that makes him no less a hero. And when he meets determined, head-strong Callie, he has met his match. This story shows how love can not only heal a heart, it can heal a soul. The humor, suspense, and love were well done in this book and Ms. Fineman's villains are people you love to hate. Tommy Ray was no exception. It was fast-paced too, I read it in an afternoon.

If you read one, then you will have to read all of them. I just could not put them down. Loved all of them.

I love the Gregory series. I read the first book and couldn't wait to read more about the Gregory family. On the Lam didn't disappoint. Callie Caldwell is a strong heroine. Despite what she's been through with her abusive husband, she fights back. Bo is a warrior, an Iraq war vet who thinks because his arm was injured in the war, he's not a full man. Oh, is he wrong! He's sexy and caring and puts his life on the line for Callie and her son. I couldn't put this book down because of the action and suspense, and just when I thought things were resolved, Sue Fineman threw something new in the mix and I had to keep reading.
