On the Right Track
Louisa Marie Carletta (Lou) leaves a self-imposed exile to temporarily return home to help her father with the family private eye business after his heart attack. Lou had fled after turning her brother over to the cops in the course of a theft investigation and failing to convince her best friend, Carrie, to stop taking drugs. As the story unfolds, Lou's very good friend, Ronnie, acts as her conscience and helps Lou deal with her troubled relationships.

On her arrival, Lou meets a new client, Leslie, who has had her public relations firm vandalized. Her PR clients—and eventual murder suspects—hide some of the truth and interact with each other in a way that make them all suspicious. Homicide detective, Lisa O'Neill, renews her adversarial relationship with Lou as they try to resolve the vandalism and murder...and what turns out to be a smuggling ring.
