    Excellent

I was leery at first and wasnt expecting much, but i was shocked at just how great this book was. Most freebies are not that great, but this was very well written, the plot was intriquing, the characters were interesting and the mystery exciting. The time period made it even more so, set during the aftermath of the civil war. I highly recommend this. You wont regret reading this.

SO INCREDIBLY, WONDROUSLY WRITTEN; HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 10 STARS! :-)

I can't pinpoint what it is about this book that reminds me of other works by my all-time favorite authors. I'm not sure what, if anything, my favorite authors even have in common. All I can say is that, for whatever reason, once I discovered Daphne du Maurier; Victoria Holt; and Mary Higgins-Clark, I was hooked on their writing. Nothing else ever truly satisfied. Until now. For the countless times I wished for more "like theirs," this book has more than made up the lack. Throughout, I found myself mentally shouting, "YES, AT LAST!" The quality of Debra Diaz' writing is SUPERB; I am in awe. More, Ms. Diaz, please - MUCH more. Thank-you. -- A Brand-New Fan.

    I really liked this book.

I really enjoyed this free book. It is about 300 pages long, if I remember correctly.( I did not write a review right away.) It is about the struggles of a young woman, left alone, during the aftermath of the civil war. She had to make a hard decision, which affected the rest of her life in ways both good and bad. It was a decision she would often regret and will never forget. By saving one life, did she endanger others and was it all for nothing? Read this well written and suspensful novel and find out for yourself. Murder, violence, rape and romance. Other adult topics. Chick lit. For adults.

    Excellent!

I fully enjoyed reading this book. Its well written without the usual typos free books have. I highly recommend it. It was great trying to figure out who did it before the author told.
