This is the first western I've ever read in my entire life and I have to say I loved it. What pulled me in is after seeing the author post a link in a Facebook group I checked out the synopsis and was hooked after only reading the first few pages. I fell totally in love with the main character Cain the mysterious outlaw but what I really enjoyed was the way he courted Veronica another mysterious woman with a hidden past. The ending was kind of predictable as most westerns (the ones I've seen on TV) tend to be but in my opinion the author did a wonderful job putting her spin on it. I wanted more and hopefully Sandra Hall has a part two in the makings. Good job to the author for taking me down the mid western days when there were black cowboys and outlaws who settled in their own land. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I'm not a big fan of westerns, but I love a good romance. Once an Outlaw from the moment Veronica and Caine stepped off the train together I was hooked to find out how they were going to become friends and lovers while robbing banks and gun fighting! Veronica's past though a little sketchy was very interesting. I especially liked the development of characters and the build up of the storyline. Bad boy Brad really caught my heart .Though this is a stand alone book I can see a part two from this author and I see myself rushing to click it when she does. It had just about everything, action, romance, sexual tension, secrets and lies. Overall Once an Outlaw is very good. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes westerns and romances.
