When testing an enemy for weaknesses, prepare for things to get hard.

Beaux Rêve Coven, Book 1

Bryn Cavanaugh and her coven like that the community they live in is isolated thanks to a storm that destroyed the bridge between them and the outside world. Now the state wants the bridge rebuilt. When the construction crew checks into the inn, Bryn begins to suspect something about the crew’s boss isn’t quite…human.

Bridges are Ethan Thorne’s thing—after all, he’s a troll—so building a simple span over a remote canal in backwater Louisiana shouldn’t be this much of a problem. When he follows the pretty little innkeeper to a midnight rendezvous, he discovers why his crew keeps running into trouble. Bryn and her coven are casting spells in the moonlight.

As a troll, Ethan feels the sting of his low place in demon hierarchy. But finding an unprotected coven of witches in the middle of the bayou could lead to all sorts of adventure. And it’s better to keep your enemies close...

Warning: Contains a handsome troll (Hey, it can happen!) who’s skilled at building sexual tension with his hands—and several other body parts, as well—and a witch who’s determined to protect her home, but forgets to shield her heart.

4.5 Stars Once in a Blue Moon is a great start to the Beaux Rêve Coven series and I look forward to reading what comes next. Brynn Cavanaugh and her sisters have found safety temporarily in the backwater Louisiana town of Bonne Nuit. That is all about to change however because as much as the people of Bonne Nuit have protested the town has decided to rebuild their bridge that separates them from the mainland. If that happens it's not only the outside that will be able to get in, so will those who hunt them these women. Ethan Thorne's company has been contracted to build a bridge connecting Bonne Nuit to the mainland. He is glad to finally get the project underway as it had been met with unusual resistance, When he arrives he notices a group of women off to the side and is suddenly struck as he and his business partner realise who these women are. When Ethan's eyes fall on Brynn he is drawn to her and know what he needs to do. He only hopes he can gain Brynn and the other women's trust before they see what he and his friends are. As time passes and it becomes more clear that the women's safety will soon be in jeopardy and when that happens will Ethan prove to be Bynn's salvation or her demise.

I just loved this!! Bryn and her sisters are strong and independent, but I can see will be getting into some trouble for what I hope is many books to come! I never thought I'd call a Troll a book boyfriend, but Ethan isn't you're ordinary Troll. This book made me giggle, swoon, and kept me on the edge of my seat. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. This is a great paranormal romance you can't miss!!

At only seventy-nine pages, Devlin's latest paranormal romance is fast, fun, and sexy. I really like Bryn and Ethan; they are both strong personalities who go after what they want. The universe is well-developed, too: there is a hierarchy among supernatural creatures and Ethan is way the heck down at the bottom. My only complaint is that the final scene, in which Bryn and Ethan face down a threat from her past, is much too short. There is not enough description, the battle does not go on long enough, and one of the baddies was introduced at only the last moment; more build-up was needed. Nonetheless, this is a great introduction to a new series, and I look forward to reading more about the Beaux Reve coven. Recommended to fans of Devlin, Erzabet Bishop, Zoe Archer, and those looking for a Pagan-friendly romance. -- lyradora

This book has given me a whole new outlook on trolls. At the beginning I didn’t think I was going to like Ethan very much with his deceptive intentions. Bryn is a witch that has escaped the enslavement of a truly evil demon. With her coven, who also escaped unhappy betrothals, Bryn is living in a small town in Louisiana that has been cut off from the rest of the world because of a hurricane. Ethan, a troll, comes town to rebuild the bridge, what job couldn’t be more perfect for a troll. Ethan is instantly attracted to Bryn and knows she is a witch, he wants to use her to build his social standings among the demons. Can he protect her from her previous captor? This book was fun and the story was great, I was hooked instantly and the sex between Bryn and Ethan are intense and sexy. Wonderful Read!
