Meet the Author

Wacky comes naturally to Day Leclaire. It always has.

At the age of five, she taught her kindergarten class how to lock the bathroom stalls and slide out underneath. At 15, she tried to use her father's street motorcycle like a dirtbike. Then Day earned her driver's license and wrecked the family car. More than once.

When Day isn't wondering if her driving record was the impetus for the "Mayhem" commercials, she's loving her SPCA foster dogs and playing god with the fabulous characters and settings she creates—all within the confines of her computer world, of course. Or so she claims...

    Ok...just ok

This is the second of Ms. Leclaire's stories that I've read and, although it's a cute enough premise, it just didn't ring true for many reasons.
If "wacky" means surviving to 24 years of age being self-delusional to the point of near incapacitation, both heroines qualify in spades. They both -needed- to find a good-hearted man to fall in love with because there's no freakin' way they would have survived once their mom/grandma passed on.
They were both ditzy and naive and seemingly had none the most basic skills needed to reason through problems logically.
Maybe it's because I love a strong heroine, independant enough to thrive on her own and choosing her man, that I find these girls to be insipid and weak even when the story's over.

    Pass

I would have enjoyed this book more if Rachel's character wasn't a 16 year old girl trapped in a 24 year old body. I felt so embarrassed for her throughout the book, she was just so ...well...stupid. How the hell a college professor could fall in love with someone like her really baffles me, she was more cute than smart. The only thing I admired about her was her dedication to her grandmother. I guess its just another case of how opposites really do attract.

The book was a funny, fluffy read. I think the author tried to make the characters seem quirky but failed miserably. The only two likable characters are Zach and Kurt. I'm not sure what the rest of the series is like, but if it's anything like this, I'll pass.

    Not really wacky

The female character in this story is more dimwitted then wacky, I did not like her. I did like the male characters but that is not enough to save the book.

The only good thing about this book is that it was short.

    Well, it was free

And that's about the best I can say about it. Poor character development, poor transitions, not sure where the relationship was even though they fell in love in the end. It just really didn't flow well and wasn't believable. I finished it (only because I hate not finishing books), so I gave it two stars because it was ok enough that I was actually able to do that.

Cute. Light romance with endearing characters. Loved it.

    Struggled

Main character too ditzy (wacky) for me. By page 60 was struggling to finish. Made myself because I wanted to find out the end of the mystery. Ended up skipping more pages than I read.

    Oh boy...

I read the whole thing hoping that at some point it would get better. It didn't. Save yourself the hours of your life you'd spend reading this book...you can't ever get them back, and anything else you do with that time would be better than slogging through this story.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE WORST STORY. I WOULD'VE PUT MINUS STARS IF I COULD.

I loved this story! The girl was so wacky you couldn't help but like her! And such a belief she had!
