    Great CD

Hey, been meaning to tell you how much I'm enjoying your cd. This is a really top quality product--the songs, the sound qualtiy, the package design--all great. I'm partial to the King of Saturday Night. Its mythology reminds me a little of the Springsteen songs Racing in the Street and Zero and Blind Terry (which is not a racing song, but is heavy on the street myth).

    Once Upon a Time

Charlie Taylor has produced a world class CD with his first outing. Recorded with some of rock, rhythm and blues and pops greatest musicians you are transported back in time from the first echoes of The King of Saturday Night to the last cut- a rock a billy rave up Please Dear. Taylor and record producers Dan Penn and Geoff Gillette assembled an all star cast of players to help them interpret some great material penned by Taylor with Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham and Carson Whitsett. If you like the blues get ready for a treat. This record drips Muscle Shoals, Memphis and New Orleans funk. The songwriting and the musicianship are superlative and the CD never lets you down. Once Upon A Time has 13 great tracks recorded in Nashville and LA with assistance from James Griffin (Bread), Dan Penn (Box Tops,Do Right Woman, I'm Your Puppet) Spooner Oldham (Percy Sledge, Cry Like A Baby), Barry Tashian (The Remains)Ian Wallace (King Crimson, Bob Dylan) Rick Vito (Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac), Carson Whitsett (Solomon Burke, Tony Joe White), Mike Leech (American Studios, Highwaymen, Elvis) and Scotty Moore (Sun Records and Elvis's original guitar player), horn secton Dennis Taylor and Terry Townson (Delbert McClinton) and flawless production from Geoff Gillette (Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder). This record sparkles from beginning to end.
