Overview

Two full length fantasy romance thrillers for grown up readers!

In Fairytale, Brigit Malone discovers her talent at forging art has a magical root, and that one of the paintings she’s forced to replicate is actually a message from her twin sister, Bridin, calling her back to the land of Rush.

She must first win the trust of her enemy, and then betray him. Adam is a brooding, wounded man who refuses to believe in anything. Brigit can be his salvation, or become his living proof that magic and love do not exist.

“Action packed from beginning to end, Forever Enchanted pulls you in from the very first page and never lets go. ” –Literal Addiction

In Forever Enchanted, Bridin must return to the enchanted land of Rush to reclaim her throne from the Dark Prince who took her kingdom. But Tristan’s been deposed by his evil brother, and now the two exiled lifelong enemies must work together, not only to free Rush from a reign of terror, but to ensure their very survival.

Fans of the TV Series ONCE UPON A TIME and GAME OF THRONES will adore this two book mini-series.

Our Reviews, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: FAIRYT

Our Reviews, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

    FAIRYTALE:
I've had Fairytale on my Kindle for quite some time. I had even started it once upon a time but was pulled away for something else and never ended up finishing it. I'm a huge Maggie Shayne fan and I can't say exactly why I hadn't finished reading it before now. Once I sat down and restarted it again though, I was kicking myself for not having done it sooner. I was thoroughly enchanted.

This is not a young adult novel, it's a beautifully written adult fairytale. :)

Adam is one of those heroes that you can't help but love because while he's smart, sexy and confident, he's also a bit tortured. Plagued by memories and dreams that caused thoughts he was punished for having, he's made it his life's work to try and understand.

Brigit is a wonderful heroine. She's sassy, tough, and multi-dimensional. Torn between what she knows is right and what she's forced to do, she scrapes through life the best she can and overcomes some pretty hefty obstacles. She also deals with the fear that she might be a bit crazy, though in her heart she knows she's not.

The two of them together are amazing. A literal fairytale written by fate, it doesn't come easy for our leading couple. When they finally figure things out though, it's an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions.

When a book pulls you along, mesmerized, and ends with such emotion that it has your heart close to bursting & you close to tears, you know it was good!

While not the fastest paced read in the beginning, it was beautifully built, magically crafted, & wonderfully concluded. I can't wait to see what's next in the FAIRIES OF RUSH series.

LITERAL ADDICTION gives Fairytale 4 1/2 Skulls and would recommend it to fantasy and paranormal romance readers who are searching for an emotional and action packed read.

    FOREVER ENCHANTED:
I have been, and will always be, a huge Maggie Shayne fan. Her Wings in the Night series is very special to me, & played an integral part in overcoming things during a very difficult time of my life. As soon as I had read them all and checked out a few of her other series, I started to hunt down her Classics. Fairytale and Forever Enchanted sat on my Kindle for quite awhile and now I am kicking myself for not reading them sooner. Fairytale was an absolutely wonderful adult fairytale, but Forever Enchanted took my breath away.

Action packed from beginning to end, Forever Enchanted pulls you in from the very first page and never lets go. When you flip the last page you are left wanting for nothing, except maybe just a little bit more. :)

Bridin and Tristan are an incredible heroine and hero and prove that the old cliche can often times be the most accurate - There really is a fine line between love and hate.

Fated to be mortal enemies by the actions of their ancestors it was expected that they would forever battle for the throne of Rush (or as Tristan's people call it, Shara). In order to stop Bridin from taking the throne Tristan locked her away on the Other Side (the mortal realm) from the time she was a little girl. Just 10 years her senior though, while he had her locked away so that she couldn't steal the throne or kingdom from him, he couldn't find it within himself to ever harm her, and in fact, provided for her as best he could.

Growing up with an animosity toward The Dark Prince, Bridin battles the conflicting feelings within herself over Tristan. He's her jailer, the one who stole her childhood, her freedom, and her throne, but he's always been a draw for her as well. She chalked it up to Stockholm Syndrome and a childish crush, but after she returns to Rush to try and reclaim the throne she realizes that it just might be much more than that.

When a series of events in Shara force both of them back to the Other Side and back into one another's lives in a capacity other than adversaries for the throne, the passion between them ignites and though they fight it at every turn, it soon becomes apparent that there's no way they can deny it.

Set in a complicated and beautiful world surrounded by captivating characters, Forever Enchanted was an emotionally charged and action packed thrill ride full of wonderful surprises.

I adored this book, and I would recommend it to EVERYONE.

LITERAL ADDICTION gives Forever Enchanted an easily earned 5 Skulls. This will definitely go on my re-read shelf. :)

    OVERALL:
An incredible duet that will transport you magically and leave you wanting more. :)

For me the first story was slow to start, but once I started really getting into it, it was a really good book. Made me eager to read the second story! The second story is a must read especially if you have read the first of this two book series FairyTale. While the first story started slow for me, this one just flowed and I was able to read it in one day. Wish there were more stories to this series but Ms. Shayne writes many other wonderful books. If you haven't tried any of her books you should. I started with her Wings in the Night series and I have been hooked on her writing ever since.

Maggie Shayne is my favorite author and I haven't read a book of hers that has disappointed. Once Upon a Time (The Fairies of Rush) is another treat. I don't want to spoil the stories for other readers because I want them to be able to discover the magic in Maggie's storytelling but I can assure you that anyone who likes magic, love, and fairies is going to enjoy these two wonderful stories.

It's Mary Margaret, not Snow White out here. And also,
Regina scowled as she entered, glaring around.
Red (yup, the Lady of the Riding Hood!) took a seat.

One of my favorite authors - Ms. Shayne never fails to give a great story filed with love, romance and passion. In this dual story, she doesn't disappoint. From the beginning, even when you're supposed to despise him, Tristain captures your heart and doesn't let go. Through the twists and turns and the battles, you're always finding a reason to root for them. Fun, romantic story that at times is frustrating but definitely leaves you satisfied in the end.

    Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This review is from: Once Upon A Time (The Fairies of Rush) (Kindle Edition)

This boxed set is 2 books about Brigit and Bridin, 2 royal faeries living in the human world, yet knowing that their destiny is Rush, their homeland. The first story is about Brigit and Adam, 2 people who get thrown together when Brigit convinces Adam that she needs his help, so he moves her into his home, not realizing that she is forging the painting he has of Rush. Being a huge Maggie Shayne fan, I was disappointed by the middle of this book. The first quarter and the last quarter were classic Maggie Shayne and fascinating. The middle was very slow moving and, at times, tedious. The second book is about Bridin, who is supposed to be queen of Rush, but has been basically held hostage while growing up, by Tristan, who believes he should be king of Rush. This book is classic Maggie Shayne. It is fast-paced, fascinating and it pulls you in from the first page and doesn't let you go until the last.
