Meet the Author

Edie Hart was born in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, where she now resides with her husband, two children, dog, and two cats. After spending her childhood making up stories in her head, she finally decided to put them on paper. What came of it was her first novella, One Bad Day. Edie is a die-hard romantic and believes that everyone deserves to be loved unconditionally—both in print and real life.
Edie also admits that “Edie Hart” is a pen name and an alter ego to an otherwise boring wife and mother. Edie is 20 pounds lighter, loves to skydive, travels to foreign places, and is a total sex kitten as compared to the uninteresting other half who is none of those things.
In reality the counterpart of Edie is a lackluster 40-something-year-old, whose main goal is to keep her Boy Child from torturing her Girl Child. This week he left ravioli handprints on the back of her white T-shirt. Last week he told her she was adopted and she believed him.

I was given the opportunity to read and review One Bad Day by Edie Hart as part of a blog tour. Poor Tessa's day goes from bad to worse. She has so many things go wrong that you just have to feel sorry for her, I know I sure did.  But she did find some luck along the way it just so happens the gentleman that comes to her rescue is a police officer. She finds herself in need of some protection with everything that happens to herin ONE DAY. Gray and Tessa spark flames almost instantly upon meeting. They formed a quick steamy relationship around the drama and suspense that becomes Tessa's life for the day. Edit Hart has done a fabulous job of writing a funny, steamy, suspense story in a very quick read. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I would certainly pick up another book by Edie Hart. She has a nice style of writing that kept me turning pages.  If you enjoy some suspense and laughter with your romance story I think you will like this one. I know I sure did.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books. This was a cute, fun, suspenseful little read! I’m definitely wishing that it was a novel and not a novella. It took a little bit to get me interested in the story, a chapter or two, but once it sucked me in, I didn’t stop reading until I was finished! The story line flowed well and it was an easy one to follow. The characters were fun to read about and had great chemistry. The suspense and thrill to the story is what really made the story pop though. It kept you on your toes so to speak and kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next. There was definitely not a lack of detail to any of the story and you were never left wanting more detail. The story never left you guessing what was being portrayed by the writing. You got a clear picture of what was going on page after page. I’d absolutely recommend this novella to you. I would actually like to read this story as a novel, it had all the great parts to a novel and I think the author would be very capable of throwing in some more suspense and some more detail to make it a full length story! * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

I enjoyed this shorter mystery and only wish it had been longer. Tessa is doing a favor for a friend and dresses up like a light bulb for a light bulb convention. When she leaves for home she notices that her bag of street clothes is missing and has to leave in the costume she was wearing – minus the large light bulb that she wore on her head. That begins “one bad day” and her day goes downhill from there. She is accosted as she looks for her car and is rescued by Gray, an off-duty cop. The attraction between them is immediate as Gray takes her home and takes care of her. The dialog is witty and the action keeps the story moving. I understand there is a sequel entitled “One Day Soon” that contains one of the minor characters from this book, but have been unable to find it. I would definitely like to read that one too. Ms. Hart has another series “The Kitty series” and I plan on reading that as well as I enjoy her writing style. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. I do highly recommend the book – it was a very entertaining read - mystery, humor, action – it has it all!

When Misty AKA Tessa meets up with officer Stanley AKA Gray, well the sparks are flying! Literally, as she is being chased by a bad guy. Gray is more than a hero. Gray sees that Tessa is in need of help, and it is in his nature to come to the rescue. They both have pasts and secrets that could ruin what may be a bright future. This story is short, sweet, and very nicely done. Worth the read, and won't take too much of your time. Strong characters, and well written. I eagerly await the next book in the One Day Series. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.
