USA TODAY BESTSELLING SERIES – Vampire Paranormal Romance, Book 2

A RUTHLESS VAMPIRE WITH A LUST FOR POWER

Kirill is a vampire prince plotting to be a vampire king. Contract by contract, he cements the alliances he needs, fueling negotiations with blood and blackmail. It's a slow and painstaking process--until he inadvertently rescues a woman beloved by all, a woman who could garner him all the good will he needs. But saving the dark-haired beauty's life is not enough to put him in her good graces. If he wants her help, he'll have to suppress the wicked urges she inspires in him, and bargain as he's never bargained before.

A PASSIONATE SIREN WITH A HEART FOR REBELLION

Irina will not cower. Not from an evil sorceress, and not from the scheming vampire prince whose fangs threaten her with death even as his lips raise the heated desire of her bloodline. With a dagger at the ready, she agrees to a bargain -- her aid in his pursuit of political alliances with creatures beyond the veil in return for a reduction in the royal tithe her people are forced to pay the crown. If only sharp fangs and a sharp tongue weren't such an incendiary combination...

A SORCERESS SCORNED

Imagine a World - Farrah N/A
Another dark, lovely retelling in this brilliant series!....I love dark fairy tales and these books hit that dead on....The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. Even though this book follows the story of Snow White, so we know what's going to happen, the author managed to throw in a few surprises. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely....One Bite was a brilliant paranormal romance. It took the story of Snow White and make it delightfully dark."

"It was really fun to see the twists that Blackstream put on the Snow White fairy tale. Just like with book #1, lots of the original elements were still there, but with a new twist....One Bite, like Before Midnight, is another sexy and charming fairy tale retelling! I am looking forward to seeing what Blackstream has in store for us in the next installment of the series!"

"I love the use of Russian folklore elements... I liked that Kyrill was a researcher as well as a plotter. I like that Irena isn't entirely a goody-two-shoes. She really (and understandably) wants to put it to her stepmother... I'm finding this a great series and am looking forward to the next story and the ones after that."

Jennifer enjoys listening to Alice Cooper, trying new recipes (to which she will add garlic whether it calls for it or not), watching television with her family, and playing with her woefully intelligent son.

Jennifer spends most of her time drinking coffee from her X-Men mug and desperately trying to get all her ideas written down before her toddler can find that all magical button on her laptop to make all her work vanish.

So if you haven’t read the first of this series, each story is a retelling of the classic fairy tales, just with a supernatural twist, and some awesome writing. And I loved loved the first one, which was the werewolf meets Cinderella LOL now this one, is Snow White, and Prince Charming is a vampire LOL I absolutely love this author’s imagination and where she is taking the stories. You still get the feel for the original tale, and yet, you love this new rendition just as much! So, we start out again with a little glimpse with the world tree and the goddess who is trying to get those unruly Princes together, and she shows us Irina. She’s lived with her crazy witch of a psycho stepmom for a while, and she finally escapes with some help, and who saves her but the lovely Prince Charming, who bites. LOL And then dumps her on the porch of the Dwarves who work for his royal family. I like her determination. I like her attitude. I like that she slapped the Prince in the face, and didn’t back down. She’s almost my favorite of these stories so far. Maybe she is my favorite, as she made me smile :) AND she brought the crazy, arrogant Prince to his knees, which was worth it! Kirill is very pretty… and ambitious…. and manipulative…. and arrogant…. and sometimes cold. But hot damn, this story made me love him a little :) Someone has finally made him speechless and has given him a little taste of his own medicine. AND he’s finally learning that friends are better than allies and what that actually means all because of Irina. And I almost love him more than my werewolf Prince, but not quite. But it really did get close, which is saying something! The writing is fantastic, and the romance is so sweet. I totally loved the twist that the author put on the Snow White part, and I really can’t wait for more. It reads so quick and easy, it flows so well, and you’ll fall in love with the whole series. You’ll be on the edge of your seat until it over, and then you’ll still be on the edge because you’ll want to know what will come next. I can’t wait to jump into book 3! 5 MAGICAL MAGNIFICENT BITING PAWS!

Another dark, lovely retelling in this brilliant series! One Bite was a wonderful, dark re-imagining of Snow White with-wait for it-vampires! It was absolutely fantastic and I totally loved it. I'm just loving this series. I love dark fairy tales and these books hit that dead on. We get more of an idea of what's going on with the prophecy of the World Tree and why it involves the princes of the 5 realms. I loved book 1, I loved book 2 even more, and I can't wait to see what's in store for book 3. If I remember correctly, it will be a dark version of Rapunzel, featuring our incubus. Doesn't that sound fun? I think it does. Irina was a strong heroine. She's lived in fear of her stepmother for years and, after finally escaping, she's not going to let anyone else rule her. She was tough, kind, and a great character. I really liked her. Kirill was a crafty character. He's very clever, ambitious, and determined. Because of that, he comes off as cold-hearted at first. But, it doesn't take long after he meets Irina that we see his soft side. He was very devoted to and protective of her. He was really sweet and I adored him. The romance was lovely. Irina and Kirill were a perfect match. With Irina's ability to charm others into friendship and Kirill's ability to ruthlessly scheme, they were complements to each other. Not to mention the chemistry between these two. It was super hot and steamy. I thought these two were perfect together. The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. Even though this book follows the story of Snow White, so we know what's going to happen, the author managed to throw in a few surprises. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. I can't wait to get my hands on book 3! One Bite was a brilliant paranormal romance. It took the story of Snow White and make it delightfully dark and absolutely amazing. I loved this book! Lovers of romance, this is a book you have to read. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review

I just finished this twisted fairytale and only found like three mistakes. Thank goodness! I was drawn to this book by the one previous to it, and found myself almost compelled by its malevolent outlook on the vampire prince. If you have not read before midnight then you absolutely need to read that one first. I know how much these reviews help me, so this is a book that I would recomend to those of you who are 16 or older. Trust me when I say that don't read if you are only 14, because even though you think that you are ready for something like this, you really aren't!!!!!!!

Another Great Book! Loved this one as much as the first (Cinderella). Awesome twist on the Snow White fairy tale. Can't say enough. Love the werewolf/vampire twist on these fairytales. I really like the fact that this is a continuation (of sorts) to the first book. I recommend reading the first one before starting on the second although it could be read on its own. The first book starts to introduce the 5 princes so it is helpful to read these books in order. Read both books in 2 evenings. Couldn't put either book down. Bought the other 3 books and started on the third.

Another fantastic retelling of a classic fairytale. Jennifer has a gift for spinning a story we have all heard a hundred times before into a new delightful tale that will capture even the most reluctant reader and make them love fairytales again. With sexy power hungry vampires, beautiful maidens, and wicked sorcery what could go wrong? This series is a must read!

I loved this unusual version of the vampire meets Snow White/Sleeping Beauty. It also has seven dwarfs and of course a evil stepmother. It was so very entertaining !

Things are heating up. I still want more out of these books, perhaps a slower transition along the story. I mean, I know what happens in these fairy tales, and I'd like for it to be dragged out a little more. That aside, I thought that Kirill and Irina were great together. He's so, well, calculating, really, yet humorous in his own way and alluring; and she's so spunky and feisty--although, I will say that she was a bit more fond of slapping the daylights out of him than was necessary at times, but, hey, the girl's been through a lot so I'll forgive her this--for the most part. The story digressed far enough from the norm of it that I was happy. It was different, with just the right amount of familiarity to make it enjoyable: a.k.a., the apple and the adorable Dwarves, of course. I feel that the story between the characters (the five Princes) is developing nicely. They're all evolving in their relationships toward each other, and I felt it a really good bit of growth on Kirill's part to step away from his scheming ways long enough to realize that there's more to what he needs than mere manipulation to get what he wants. It made him (ha! I almost said it made him more "human") more approachable, which in turn made him more likeable. Oh what a relief to come across a Snow White in Irina that's not the simpering, cute, sweet, perfect Snow White I've come across many other times. It's one of the reasons I can't even stand to watch the Disney film (sorry, fans out there). Irina is strong, but not so overpowering that she was annoying. I hate Mary Sues. She has just the right balance in her. It would have been great to see more of the king and queen, especially since Kirill has such a coup to deal with concerning his father. But, I do hope that we'll get to see that in the future, even if in a small peek along the lines of one of the other books. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read, with a very fun set of protagonists. I think my main issue was how many times I had to Google the various beings that were mentioned and introduced throughout this story, but, hey, at least I learned of a few new (for me, anyway) mythological creatures along the way. P.S.: The "evil" queen was wonderfully disliked, but she definitely deserved to suffer more than a swift death down on the lake with her monstrous creation. Kirill, you bad boy, letting your temper get the best of you again. Tsk tsk tsk...
