'TIS THE SEASON FOR SECOND CHANCES . . .

There's nothing like a Christmas wedding to warm a girl's heart-or to distract everyone else from the fact that one particular bridesmaid intends to quickly skip town. Julia Noble's accident was years ago, and she's tired of being overprotected. She needs to be on her own. But before she flees Aspen, Colorado, Julia wants to make sure her brother has the perfect wedding and all her ducks are in a row. Yet duty soon turns to pleasure when three days before the big day Julia runs into the only man she ever dreamed of marrying.

Fresh out of the navy, Isaac Nash just wants to feel normal again. But starting his new life means winning back the girl who captured his heart years ago. Isaac didn't know the truth behind the tragedy that changed Julia's life forever, and he can't stop blaming himself for not being there for her. After all this time, he knows that Julia is what he wants, this and every Christmas. Now Isaac just has to convince her that she's earned a miracle, too . . .

Meet the Author

Sara Richardson grew up chasing adventure in Colorado's rugged mountains. She's climbed to the top of a 14,000 foot peak at midnight, swum through Class IV rapids, completed her wilderness first-aid certification, and spent seven days at a time tromping through the wilderness with a thirty-pound backpack strapped to her shoulders.

Eventually Sara did the responsible thing and got an education in writing and journalism. After a brief stint in the corporate writing world, she stopped ignoring the voices in her head and started writing fiction. Now she uses her experience as a mountain adventure guide to write stories that incorporate adventure with romance. Still indulging her adventurous spirit, Sara lives and plays in Colorado with her saint of a husband and two young sons.

Julia was my favorite character from the previous book and I love that she gets her own story. Julia is wheelchair bound but is determined to take charge of her own life away, from her overprotective but well-meaning family. She's accepted that love and marriage are not in the cards for her, but when the man she's been in love with all her life returns just before the start of her new life, will she give up the chance to follow her dreams or will she give up a chance for happiness? Or can she have both? Joining the Navy saved Isaac Nash in more ways than one and after twelve years, he's back home with one thing on his mind- winning over the one woman who was his lifeline through every mission. Julia has other plans for her life that don't include him but Isaac is determined to find a place in her life and help her understand that leaning on someone doesn't make her weak. Julia and Isaac's story was unexpectedly emotional. Julia had every reason to be bitter about how her life turned out, but she was so upbeat and funny and smart and I loved her. However, with Isaac's return, she had to deal with the buried fears, pain and struggles from when she first had the accident as well as the unresolved feelings from Isaac's abrupt departure, in order for them to have a chance at a future. I love that Isaac was unwavering in his support for Julia and his respect for her desire for independence. ONE CHRISTMAS WISH perfectly captures the spirit of the season - love, hope, healing and new beginnings. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. After reading Something Like Love the first thing I thought was I am dying to find out who Julia ends up with. Wish granted. One Christmas Wish gave a much deeper look into Julie beyond her smart, funny and snarky dialogue. Julia wants to escape from her over protective family. She's never been able to live her life and forced to follow her family wherever they take her after an accident that left her paralyzed. She has a new job lined up and she's going to sneak off after her brother's wedding. There's only one problem. The love of her life, Isaac, walks right back into her life after serving 12 years in the Navy. Isaac wants to feel normal again and the only person who has done that for him is Julie. Unexpected circumstances lead them to getting to know each other as adults and they can't deny their love or attraction. If you enjoy a steamy romance that's perfect for a lunch break, I highly recommend One Christmas Wish.

This story made me really emotional. Julia could have easily been bitter about all that she had to face within her young life. Yet she handled the obstacles put before her with strength and optimism. In fact she dealt with it better than those around her. Her courage is what I believe help Isaac to face his own issues. Her gentle spirit and kind heart made her resilience all the more incredible and is what was most inspiring about this novel. I have read exactly two stories by Sara Richardson. Something Like Love and One Christmas Wish. Her ability to write inspiring characters is a beautiful facet of her storytelling. Requested an ARC of One Christmas Wish from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
