Meet the Author

Three-time RITA nominee Joanne Rock didn't think to indulge in her love of writing when she went to college. Instead, she opted for a communications degree and a business minor involving far too much accounting. Only after venturing into the real world did she realize it would have been wiser to study what she liked best so she could enjoy her life's work. Heading back to university for a graduate degree in English literature, Joanne penned her first novel at the same time she wrote her thesis. And while it took the rejection of six completed novels before she sold her first book, she never regretted the career choice based on a labor of love. Today Joanne lives in the Adirondack region of upstate New York with her husband and three sons and she is thrilled to pen stories for Harlequin Blaze, Harlequin Historical and Harlequin Special Releases. Visit her at her websites to enter monthly contests and learn more about her work.

Kathleen wrote her first romance at the age of 11, which to her undying embarrassment, was read aloud to her class. After taking over 20 years to recover from the profound distress, she is now proud to announce her new career -- romance author.

Kathleen lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and their two children, who outwit her daily. She loves to hear from readers. They can contact her at www.kathleenoreilly.com.

Wendy grew up wanting to rule the world -- or at least be the CEO of Coca-Cola. Then she discovered two literary giants: Harlequin romance novels and Louis Grizzard. For those of you above the Mason Dixon line, he was a renowned -- or was it infamous? -- writer and Southern humorist. Who knew these three passions would someday blend together into a career? These days she gets to create a world she rules with her keyboard, and write about enduring love with a comedic twist.

Born and raised in the deep South -- with the accent and fried chicken recipes to prove it -- Wendy now lives in the Midwest with her husband and two children.

Award-winning author and screenwriter Jo Leigh began her career in 1975 as a reader in the Comedy Development department for 20th-Century Fox. She left Fox in 1977 to go on location with The Deer Hunter. She then worked as an auditor, associate producer, and producer on such projects as When She Says No for CBS, Beulah Land for NBC, Great American Traffic Jam for NBC and Clan of the Cave Bear for Jozak Productions. In 1987 she became head of development for the McCarron Film Corp., overseeing a roster of 12 feature films.

As a screenwriter, she's had a series idea purchased by Cinemax, and has worked as a script consultant on more than 50 screenplays. Currently, her screenplay Apache Tears is in development with Northern Lights Productions in Canada.

Jo also teaches writing in two-day workshops across the country, and is a frequent guest speaker at writing conferences. Her tape on Advanced Plotting from the Dallas Romance Writers of America conference is the bestselling tape in RWA's history.

Her first Silhouette novel, Suspect, was awarded Best First Series Book by Romantic Times Magazine, garnered the 1994 Romance Writer of the Year award from Pike's Peak RWA, and was a finalist for Best Romantic Suspense Novel of 1994 by Romance Writers of America.

Her first Temptation novel, One Wicked Night, was a finalist for Best Short Contemporary Novel of 1998 by Romance Writers of America.

She also ghostwrote Great Big Beautiful Doll--The Anna Nicole Smith Story for Barricade Books.

Jo currently writes for Harlequin American, Harlequin Temptation, Harlequin Intrigue, and Harlequin special series. She lives in Nevada with her three enormous cats, Zeke, Coco, and Molly. You can reach her at her website: www.joleigh.com
